Story
Gunther is a super senior we pulled from MACC and are so happy we did! This guy is so spry for 15 and loves to do zoomies and is great with most other dogs! High energy ones can be a little much for this senior guy, but the more chill ones he is great with. He also seems good around cats, loves a good car ride, and loves a yard to mosey around in! We did learn at his vet appointment that Gunther is Heartworm positive but, because of his age, we won't be doing the conventional treatment as it would be too tough on him. So we will be killing off those boogers with his Heartworm prevention each month. His heart and lungs do sound good though! We also learned he is not neutered but has one testicle on the outside that is very small and the other is inside but the vet doesn't believe it is negatively affecting him and the vet did not recommend sedating Gunther unless it was an emergency. He also has some arthritis but still is very active and is learning how to be a dog which we love to see! We have been giving him Lubrela shots at the vet every few weeks and that seems to do wonders for his arthritis and keeping him active as well as with daily pain management. He also can have GI upset so he is on a prescription food but Bonaparte's is happy to continue buying that for him! Despite his age and the fact that we think Gunther was literally just left outside his entire life, he is extremely good natured and is doing so well! He can be a little resource guarding but we are learning what those high value things are and he can be pretty good at redirecting and trading which is great! We are also working on some pain management with him but we know he doesn't like his tail end or his head messed with and can give verbal warnings, etc when that happens, but seems great with pets on the torso and really is just happy in a yard or to chill in the sunshine!February 3, 2025, 3:20 pm

Story
Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! For instance, I am a busy boy, I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

These pups are in Dickson, Tennessee too!

Story
Meet Rogue! Hi, my name is Rogue but my friends call me Ro Ro. I am a ginger-colored husky mix, and I was born 9/13/2021. I came to the shelter with my brothers and sister, who have all moved onto their forever homes, way back in the fall of 2022. We were born and raised outside and were on our own, our momma did her best to care for us, but these "human" things were totally alien to me until we came to the shelter. I didn't really like them at first, I'd rather spend time hiding with my dog friends in my kennel, but after a while they wore me down with their yummy treats, and my doggy friends helped me see that they aren't too bad. Sometimes, they're even kind of fun to play with. I spent kind of a long time not trusting people, but my friends tell me that good things are worth waiting for. After spending lots of time in the kennels with other dogs, they moved me to this cool new room where I get to run around day and night with my best friends, and lots of new people come to visit me. I've found it's kind of fun to play keep away with the people, and when they give my friends treats, you bet I'm right there with them waiting for mine. I still prefer to be a little more independant than some of the dogs I know, but I've grown really fond of some people when I see them a lot. I think I'm actually ready to find one that I can call "mine" like my friends tell me they want. Some things I really like are toys, for sure, treats, and naps. If I had to pick a favorite toy, I'd probably say stuffed animals. Not that they last long, they're just so fun to tear apart! I also really like rolling around the herding ball they give us, that's pretty fun too. i am smart and will show my new human friends my many tricks i know once im comfortable with them. i know how to sit, lay, give paw, and come. More than anything, I'd love to go to a home with another dog or two, but I definitely want to meet them before I commit to living with them. As far as cats, I love cats! I love cats the same way I love stuffed animals. My people friends say this means I'm not allowed to live with any cats though. The little humans, or "kids", are okay, but I prefer when they're a little bigger and know when I want to be left alone. Anyway, I'm ready to find a home, do you want to help me?  Rogue is fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $125. Rogue is considered to be a flight risk, so a fully fenced yard is required. Potential adopters may be subject to a home visit.  Interested? Call 615-446-7387. ##1530157##
