Story
Meet Nala 🖤 Nala is a beautiful long-haired American Akita with a calm, laid-back personality. She’s the definition of a relaxed companion — most of the day she’s perfectly happy lounging around, napping, and just being near her people. She’ll play for a few minutes here and there, but she’s definitely more of a “couch potato” than a high-energy dog. One of Nala’s favorite things is going on walks. She enjoys getting outside, exploring, and spending time with her family. She is wonderful with kids and has been a great family dog. Nala would do best in a home where she can be the center of attention or with owners experienced with strong personalities, as she is not a huge fan of other dogs. She’s loyal, loving, protective of her family, and happiest in a calm home where she can relax and be loved. If you’re looking for a gentle, fluffy best friend who enjoys naps, walks, and family time, Nala may be the perfect fit.

Story
We adopted Chloe and her brother from a couple near Galipolis, Ohio. We've had them since they were 12 weeks old. A little skittish around those she doesn't know but warms up very well. They would require a fenced in yard as they like to run. My husband is disabled and has other health problems that are preventing us to give them the love and attention they need. They love belly rubs and laps. They are our doorbell. We have young grandchildren that they have been around. Good with our cat. Housebroke, crate trained, let's you know when they need to go outside. Very loving young dogs. Microchipped and up to date on shots.

Story
Meet Raina! Raina came to us as a stray, but it is clear she was someone's beloved companion at one point in time. Raina is our resident trick superstar; she knows "sit", "shake", "lay down", and "speak"! She appears to be potty trained and walks very well on leash. Despite being a big girl, Raina is very gentle and easy going. She has done okay with other dogs in the shelter. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Raina home. If you are interested in meeting Raina, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Artemis needs to get outside and run every day. If you give him a hour of activity each day he will be on his best behavior. Bio: Artemis is the perfect companion for someone who stays active! He loves to go for a long walk and  play a good game of fetch. He loves to play with other dogs and does really well with other large dogs. Woody is crate trained and only slept in his crate for the first few weeks but recently we have allowed him to sleep on his dog bed at night. Woody does shed a lot but he will not get on furniture which makes cleaning up his hair easy. He is an excellent listener, if I tell him to sit and stay at the top of my steps he will be waiting there when I finish doing my laundry. Woody has the potential to be the best trained dog in his furever home. ***PLEASE READ*** WE DO NOT RESPOND TO PETFINDER OR EMAIL INQUIRIES. • Name:  Hayzee • Male or female: Spayed Female• Approximate Age: 5• Spayed• Breed: German Shepherd Mix• Weight: Estimated 75• Any impairments:  Needs joint supplements (glucosamine)• Potty trained? Yes• Crate trained? Yes• Good with other dogs? Needs a slow introduction and can be a rough player once comfortable • Good with cats? Yes- Good with Chickens?  Yes• Good with kids?  Unknown• Commands known:   sit, come, down, loose leash walking (easy)• Needs fenced in yard? No, but would enjoy one to run and sniff• Need another dog in the home? No• Location: Baden, PA• Energy level (high/med/low)? Medium• Bio:  Hayes had a very rough start to life and has been passed around into some unfortunate situations. Upon arrival at JK9 Pet Services for an evaluation and training she was totally shut down and unfamiliar with the world.   Jessica at JK9 pet has been working with her for quite awhile now to help her learn how to be a dog, gain confidence, and learn that humans can be trusted again. She has been thriving in her board and train foster home and now plays with toys, is learning new things, and has become an absolutely wonderful house guest and companion. She may be unsure of people at first, but she is starting to warm up more quickly the longer she is here. Like a typical German shepherd, she barks and alerts everyone if someone is in her home and she can be quite the talker. She even howls and does happy barks and woo woos now!   Hayes would do best in an low-key home where she can feel comfortable and thrive. She can be a bit defensive if a dog is overly playful and annoying, so she would prefer another dog that she can co-exist with and not have to play 24/7.  She can be a rough player, which can come off as intimidating to other dogs, but she would do fine with supervision and a slow introduction to allow her to adjust and decompress in between playing. She is crate trained, walks well on a leash, and house broken. She has been introduced to my cat and my chickens and showed no aggression, just mild curiosity. Hayes loves to just feel loved and to be with you, whatever that may be. She would benefit from light exercise and walks to keep her fit and her mind healthy, but she is a pretty easy going dog overall. ##2714429##
