Story
Shadow is a gentle giant. She a senior dog that really needs more love than she’s able to receive right now. She was adopted about sixish years ago. Her ideal home would be one with lots of love and attention. Despite her age she still has quite a bit of energy in her, especially when someone starts getting excited around her. She’s very passive and just wants to be in the same room as you as much as possible. I do know that she had abandonment issues at the very beginning of moving home and would chew on the window sill but from what we know we we adopted her was that she was left in a field alone so of course she did. I just don’t know if she would have a similar reaction moving to a new home. She has a dog bed and dog food that the next forever home can have if they would like it!

Husky Labrador Retriever

Female, Young
Salisbury, NC
Size
(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, House-trained,
Story
She used to live in a home affected by drug addiction, and when I found her, she had been badly neglected. Her tail was so injured that she had lost all the hair on it, and her little body showed signs of many past wounds. Despite everything she went through, she never lost her sweetness. From the very beginning, she showed nothing but love and trust. She is incredibly gentle with other dogs, very obedient, and calm by nature. She rarely barks, loves playing with balls, and has the most beautiful, soulful eyes I ever seen; eyes that seem to understand you. She has an amazing sensitivity to emotions. Whenever I feel sad or overwhelmed, she stays close to me, quietly following me around, as if her only job is to make sure I am okay and safe. She is caring, loyal, and deeply connected to the people she loves. She deserves a home where she can finally feel secure, loved, and at peace; a place where her past does not define her future.

Patches is 8 months old and is such a sweet boy who is dog and kid friendly. He is also house trained as well. Patches is just a happy go lucky boy. He has been waiting for over 6 months for his home. We pulled Hazel, Patches' mom, from Duplin County Animal Shelter last summer. Hazel was going to be euthanized at the shelter. Hazel ended up being pregnant when we pulled her and two of her pups are still left and one is Patches. We do not know what breed the father was, but Hazel is a Siberian Husky/Shepherd Mix.
