She found herself in an overcrowded Houston TX shelter then was attacked by her kennelmate THEN was placed on the euthanasia list due to length of stay. We couldn't let her story end there. She just trembled in the shelter and was terrified. Out of the shelter she's a totally different dog. She learns to trust quickly and will be your best buddy. She adores other dogs and loves to play so must be adopted into a home with atleast one other dog. Super sweet. Has a ball having the zoomies and playing with toys. Available for adoption anywhere in the US or Canada with transport provided

Valerian is an adult (born approx 4.1.17) neutered male Akita. He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, on flea/heartworm prevention, house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. Valerian was surrenderd to the shelter in Chesapeake, VA when the owner could no longer care for him. He had previously lived outside in a pen and was uncertain and stand off-ish when he first came to us, but he warmed up to a goofy, woo-ing, wiggle butt boy. He is just so sweet! Valerian would be fine in a home with children 12+ due to his high energy level and as an only pet.
