Story
Hi, my name is Kita and I'm from Northern Minnesota. Kita has blossomed into such a fun, sweet and playful girl. She is really enjoying being apart of a family and roaming the house. Kita gets so happy when my 11 and 9 year old wake up in the morning. We have two other dogs, one large and one small. They all walk really well together and coexist well inside. We still separate for night time and feeding. She doesn’t really pay attention to other dogs that we meet. She rarely barks. You can tell that she has a lot more to share and give and has a quiet demeanor. She has started to play with stuffies and even gives little cute love nibbles. Kita gives me a hug in the morning. I can tell that she really wants to run and I have taken her jogging a bit. Understandably so, she still has some nervousness with new people and new noises but she calmly stays away and then eventually joins us. She just needs some space at first. Kita also only had one accident in the house her first night. But she goes to the door when she needs to go out. She is also very smart and curious. We just love her pointy ears. I think she would thrive with a situation where she can get good exercise with an active person or couple or family. She has a lot more love to give. She also is okay when we have to take a high value treat away or lift up her food. She really is very sweet.

Story
Juneau is a beautiful Husky/Malamute mix straight out of a storybook! At 2.5 years-old and 60 lbs, she gives off “magical snow queen” energy and is a total sweetheart once she knows you’re safe. She is quite the explorer but at her own pace—she’s the kind of dog who starts out observing from across the room… then slowly scoots closer… and before you know it, she’s chosen a spot near you (or on the couch) and giving little happy dances!Juneau did not grow up in a home and needed time to learn what it meant to live safely indoors with people. Now, she understands household routines, knows “go outside,” and has settled with increasing confidence. She likes having choices between cozy resting spots, like her crate, dog beds, or a shady place nearby, always keeping her trusted human within sight. She only uses her crate when she chooses to retreat. She is also generally quiet except for a few moments of her alto husky singing voice. She has had lots of fun living with adult dogs after decompressing, but she is not a good match for puppies or pushy playmates. She has very clear boundaries when playing, so all she needs is humans who understand her. Cats are still a question mark—she’s ignored calm cats before, but proper introductions would be necessary. With humans, she is gentle but needs people to go slow, so she cannot live with young children. Her favorite things include peaceful walks, exploring new smells, rolling in the snow or digging outside, and lounging in shady, cozy spots. She loves lead and longline walks and jogs in nature and around the neighborhood. For toys, she loves squeaky balls, antlers, bully sticks, and occasionally likes a tennis ball, but no stuffy toys in case she ingests them. She thrives with exercise and can jump, so a secure 4-6 foot fence is required.Juneau is tired of surviving and is ready to thrive, and she's looking for a patient and loving family to settle into. In return, you'll have the most beautiful and loyal friend in the world! If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
HI - I'M SEBASTIAN! I'm a sweet, gentle, and loving 1-year-old Siberian Husky mix ready to start my life with an awesome person or people. I was recently rescued from an overcrowded kill shelter in California, in the nick of time. I am good with other dogs, love people and would make a wonderful companion for an active person, couple or family who loves to walk, hike or go on road trips! I get along great with everyone - and I weigh only 48 lbs. I'm the perfect size. I really dodged a bullet -- I was made urgent for lack of space at the shelter -- and I would love a chance to be adopted by an amazing person or people. Please email for an application. I'm looking for a foster or forever home, and am currently located in California but can be transported to Minnesota.

Yes, but dog-savvy kids preferred. Good with Strangers? Yep! Potty Trained? I'm working on it! Crate Trained? Yes, with some encouragement Shedding? Medium ✨ Meet Nixie — Your New Adventure Buddy! ✨ Nixie is an adorable, fluffy Pomeranian/Husky mix (our best guess!) with a beautiful brown-and-white coat and a whole lot of personality packed into her petite 15–20 lbs. Don’t let her size fool you—this girl is energetic, spirited, and always ready for fun! 🌟 Personality & Play Style Nixie is a sweet, playful pup who loves to chase and wrestle with other friendly dogs. She would thrive in a home with a dog who enjoys active playtime and silly games. She’s been wonderful with the cats in her foster home—mostly ignoring them, but occasionally trying to initiate play. When they decline, she politely backs off. Nixie has also been great with the children in her foster home. She was a bit fearful at first, but after a few days of settling in, she became their loyal little buddy. 🏡 What She Needs Nixie is happiest when she’s busy, both mentally and physically. She’ll need: • An active dog friend or humans who can commit to lots of exercise and enrichment • A securely fenced yard for zoomies and energy-burning outdoor fun • A consistent potty routine—she’s making real progress and does well on a schedule • A cozy kennel—she settles nicely in her crate 🛁 Bonus Features She’s a pro at bath time… but also thinks running through mud puddles is the BEST. Nixie is an affectionate, joyful pup who will reward her future family with endless laughs, love, and adventure. If you’re looking for a fun-loving companion who’s as cute as she is spirited, Nixie might be your perfect match! Nixie is spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccinations appropriate for her age.
