Meet Kody – A Loyal Heart Ready to Love Again
Kody’s story begins with love and loss. This beautiful Japanese Akita was deeply bonded with his dad, who sadly passed away. Since then, Kody has been on a journey of healing. And now, after weeks of gentle care and patience, he’s finally opening up and showing the world what an incredible dog he truly is.
At around six years old, Kody is the perfect mix of maturity and curiosity. He’s housebroken, walks beautifully on a leash, and absolutely adores exploring the world around him—whether it’s a quiet neighborhood stroll or a new trail to sniff and discover. He’s a quiet companion with a gentle soul, always ready to be by your side.
Kody has a heart as big as his fluffy frame. He’s affectionate, loyal, and forms strong bonds with the people he trusts. Once he knows you’re his person, he’ll follow you from room to room, happy just to be near. He’s a true shadow dog—the kind of companion who makes you feel loved just by being present.
He does wonderfully with other dogs and has shown kindness toward kids and adults alike. Whether he's in a home with another canine friend or soaking up all the attention as a solo pup, Kody adapts with ease and grace.
Kody is currently looking for a foster-to-adopt home—a soft landing as he transitions into his next chapter. He’s been through a lot, but he hasn’t lost his capacity to love. In fact, he’s ready to give it all to the right family.

Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.
