We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Hello, I`m Max! I`m a sweet, friendly, and somewhat goofy chap. I`m all about fun, you see. Ropes, bones, stuffed animals - these are a few of my favorite things. I`m also house trained, so no worries there! And did I mention my love for blankets? There`s nothing like a good snuggle under a warm blanket after a day of play. I promise, I`m more than just a shelter pet. I`m a loyal friend, a playful companion, and a constant source of laughter. Adopt me, and let`s create unforgettable memories together!Ideal Home: -A home without cats or other small animals

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. &#226&#128&#139Meet Zuki! This sweet lady has had a rough few years! Zuki is a Japanese Akita, who was originally imported from Japan. Zuki unfortunately lived her first years of her life being housed in a closet. However, when you first meet her, you would have no idea that she’s had such a lonely past. Zuki loves giving you hugs and kisses but is just as happy sitting quietly at your feet. She’s a quiet girl with a tender and sweet disposition, and she loves all people and all ages. Zuki does show mild signs of reactivity to new dogs, but only when they get to close (she likes her personal space). This is due to never having seen another dog until she was an adult.  Zuki does currently live in a foster home with several other dogs and after a slow and proper introduction she lives happily among them. She would do best in a home without other dogs but with proper introduction and patience could do well. Behavior with cats is unknown but she reacts positively when seeing them at adoption events, so she might do well in a home with cats. Zuki is potty trained and up to date on vaccines. She’s scheduled to be spayed on January 24th.  Breed experience is preferred, but not required. For more information about Zuki please fill out an application at Last Day Dog Rescue! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. December 17, 2024, 8:51 am

Here are some nice facts about her: Fun-spirited Well mannered Beautiful coat Loves to be in your lap The best ears ever Energetic Does adorable playbows and zoomies Loves tennis balls with a nice soft mouth release Knows sit, down and shake Needs an active home with a yard to run and play Will need an adopter who is familiar with how to instill leadership due to breed Has a soft, loose approach with other dogs with an "all in" play style Needs a home where any children are at least 8 years old. She has enjoyed the company of the cats she has met so far. If you are interested in Poppy and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying.
