Story
This sweet girl was found with her head stuck in a fence and she had multiple wounds. An amazing volunteer took her in and started treatments for her wounds. We estimate Darla was born in late October. We have no idea what happened to her but we know her future is bright. She is sweet, funny and playful. We are only guessing at the breed mix because of her ears. That may change as time goes on. She will be finished with her vetting and ready to go to her forever home in early to mid January. Let’s help her have the best life. If you are interested in adopting please apply at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FFRR/Dog You can also visit our website at funnyfarmpets.org where you can read all about our TN based rescue and how the adoption and transport process works and get all the answers to your questions. Her adoption fee will be $399 and if transport is needed from TN where she is fostered there will be an additional $200 fee.

Story
Meet Blizzard, a 2-year-old malamute with a heart as big as his voice! This sweet and playful boy is friendly with everyone he meets and already knows "sit" and "paw." Blizzard is a quick learner, a good listener, and always ready for some fun. He's a bit shy when meeting new dogs but warms up fast and is eager to play. He appears house trained. Blizzard has lived with kids 7 and up and done well, making him a great addition to an active family. Like most malamutes, Blizzard loves to sing! His soulful howls are part of his charm, but they did lead to his previous owner surrendering him after neighbors complained. He’s used to spending plenty of time outdoors, so Blizzard would thrive in a home with access to a yard or outdoor space where he can stretch his legs and enjoy the fresh air. Daily exercise and mental stimulation will help keep him happy and content. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, loyal companion who will keep you smiling (and serenaded!), Blizzard is ready to meet you. Don’t miss your chance to bring this big-hearted guy home! If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways: Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt. **the below two methods are slower than visiting us** Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours. All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter

Story
Dexter is a 3-year-old husky with a heart as big as his love for ear rubs and toys! This sweet and affectionate boy is ready to trade his outdoor-only lifestyle for a cozy indoor home where he can still enjoy plenty of time exploring outside. Dexter is a people-loving pup who thrives on human attention, but he hasn’t spent much time around other dogs and doesn’t quite know his manners with them. Because of this, Dexter would do best as the only dog in the home, and he’s not a good candidate for dog parks. He hasn’t lived with kids before, so a home with teens and up will suit him best. Since Dexter isn’t house trained and is new to indoor life, he’ll need a patient and committed adopter to guide him as he adjusts. With time, love, and consistent training, Dexter will blossom into the perfect companion. If you’re looking for a loyal and playful best friend who will soak up all the attention you can give, Dexter might be the one for you! Story
Scooby is a smaller husky mix with a big amount of energy! He loves to jump--often on people--and is very enthusiastic with his affection. He wiggles and licks faces, and will even nibble at piercings when he has the chance. He doesn't have a huge interest in playing with toys, but he loves bouncing around with people!OTHER PETS: Scooby was relaxed and playful around other dogs, and has even been tolerant of other dogs being jumpy with him. He would likely get along with dogs that can match his energy and play style. [Likely (Must Meet First)] NO CATS OWNER EXPERIENCE: Someone who has experience with high energy, independent thinkers, would be best suited to ensure Scooby has awesome adventures for the remainder of his life. [Some Experience]KIDS: Scooby is a very jumpy little guy who loves to get all up in people's faces. To ensure he gets along well with his younger human friends, he would do best with kids who are old enough to not be knocked over easily and can understand how to interact with him. [12+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Scooby is a very energetic dog who will need constructive, healthy ways to channel his energy, including mental enrichment, to ensure that he does not create his own entertainment. Some activities Scooby might enjoy are: multiple daily walks, hiking, puzzle boxes, treat puzzles, or even dog sports. Due to his energy we think he would be a great candidate for hiking or agility specifically! [Olympic Athlete]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Scooby bond with his new owner as well as help him learn important cues and skills. Scooby is very social and enjoys positive human interactions, and will need patience and support as he learns new tricks and skills. [Moderate] GROOMING: Regular brushing will help keep Scooby's coat clean and matt-free; huskies blow their coats twice a year and many owners choose to have a professional groomer help with the extra shedding.
