Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! NOT!! I am a snuggle bug looking for tummy scratches....I willl MELT for one!! Here is what one of our amazing fosters have to say about Dakota...."Super freaking sweet, loves loves belly rubs, is very strong when you walk him but listens well. VERY treat motivated and knows sit down paw and i just taught him roll over yesterday but its a work in progress 😝. Super playful, he will pounce around you and then roll over for belly rubs and absolutely melts for the belly rubs and kisses" I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!! I am two VERY loyal breeds and once I know you are my family, you will have my unending love :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Keyoko is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She had been living a good life until her owner died and she - and her buddy Zeus - suddenly found themselves at the shelter with nowhere to go. One of our wonderful fosters has agreed to take both of them in until we can find their new forever homes. In addition, a kind supporter has sponsored part of her adoption fee to help her get settled soon. At 8yrs old, Keyoko is still playful and loves to cuddle with her people. She is looking for a safe and loving home. If you think that could be yours, click on the big black button marked "Ask About Me" and we will send you an application. This dog is being fostered in TN but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Story
It is so unfortunate that we have to relocate out of state and are unable to take him with us. Teddy lives with us in the house, although when it’s between 10-65 degrees prefers to stay outside. Adores company and evening walks. Playful, never bitten anyone but insists on personal space. Won’t bark unless he means it. A typical Akita. Very intelligent, never treated with aggression, never involved in dog fights although other dogs may feel intimidated by him when walking by and he could care less about them. Looking for a caring home for him, an experienced handler who would enjoy his company. Akitas are loyal to his owner and it will be a hard farewell but I’m sure he senses our distress about this whole situation. I would prefer to meet with future owners and spend some time to accommodate both parties. Rehoming fee is not a priority, obviously. A good, loving home and experienced with big dogs is. Thank you.

If you like them BIG and floppy, Simba fits that detail. This dude was a loved family member but they had to relocate and left him with another friend. Unfortunately, they could not see him any longer due to no fault of his own and he needed a complete restart. This is a 3 year old baby who has never met a stranger. He is good with all humans and loves all the humans of all sizes. Due to his massive size, he would do best with kids over ten and is fine with cats. He is still learning dogs are great after never having socialized with them, but he is taking life in strides. Come meet this hunk today!

Story
&#226&#156&#168 Why Hasn’t Gigi Been Adopted? &#226&#156&#168 (Spoiler: It’s not because of her.) Sometimes the best dogs wait the longest — not because they aren’t wonderful, but because they’re waiting for the right home. After 3 YEARS in rescue, we want to answer the question we hear the most: &#226&#157&#147 “Why hasn’t she been adopted yet?” Myth: Something must be wrong with her. Truth: Gigi is sweet, affectionate, loyal, and deeply bonded to her people. Here’s who she really is: Cuddle Bug — She loves climbing on the couch and laying close to her person. Belly Rub Champion — Roll over = automatic request for love. Adventure Ready — Walk days are her favorite days. Playful — Loves chasing balls and sometimes brings them back for more. Loyal & Protective — She wants to keep her home safe (very normal for her breed mix). Smart & Observant — Once she learns someone belongs, she relaxes beautifully. She lives with another dog now and does well with proper introductions and structure. What she needs &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 A calmer household &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Adults or older respectful kids &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Someone who wants a true companion &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 A family who understands loyalty is a gift Dogs like Gigi don’t love halfway. They love completely. And when she chooses you — you’ll know. Northwest Indiana &#226&#156&#133 Fully vetted 4-5 years old Apply to adopt: http://jotform.us/form/43196636952162 Please share — her family might be one share away. Three years is long enough. It’s her turn. #AdoptGigi #LongTermRescue #MythBuster #AdoptDontShop #GuardiansOfTheGreenMileThank you for your interest in adopting a pet from Guardians of the Green Mile Inc. We are a group of individuals that have come together to save the lives of animals that are in danger of being euthanized. We raise funds to fully vet the animals and to provide them with a stable home until they are adopted. All of the dogs in our Rescue are in Foster homes while they are looking for their forever family. The only time we put a dog in boarding is for a Foster to go on vacation if another Foster is not able to care for them. We appreciate your taking the time to fill out the application to adopt one of our Guardians of the Green Mile pets. The questions that we ask are to only find the right fit for all of our dogs and the families that will be adopting them. Adoption donation is $300.00 for dogs over 1 year old and $350 with a $50.00 spay / neuter deposit for puppies/dogs under 1 year old. Story
Rose is a gentle soul who takes her time getting to know new people, but once she feels safe, her sweet and loyal nature really begins to shine! She’s most comfortable when given space to settle in at her own pace, and she feels more at ease with people she’s had the chance to build trust with. Rose may need a few visits to truly warm up, but for the right person or family, she’s well worth the wait! She’s not particularly interested in toys or treats, but if you’ve got hotdogs, you might just be her new best friend! Rose is looking for a patient and loving home that will give her the time she needs to feel comfortable, and in return she’ll give you her whole entire heart! Weight: 47 lbs Spayed/Neutered: Yes! Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Housebroken: Yes! They will potty outside every time or nearly every time (rarely has accidents). Crate-trained: Yes! They will settle in the crate easily and are comfortable staying in it for 4+ hours. Leash behavior: Good! They enjoy walks and are easy to handle while on leash. Dog sociability: They like them! They enjoy the company of dog friends, but would be just as happy to be an only dog in the home. Cat sociability: Unknown! They have never met another dog while in foster care. Kid sociability: No kids, please! They are afraid of kids or reactive toward them, or they have a history of behaviors that make them incompatible with children. Likes: Hot dogs, walkies, being a silly goose Dislikes: Sharing If you’d like to meet Rose, please fill out an adoption application at animalcareleague.org/adoptions and send us an email at adoption@animalcareleague.org!
