Story
It is so unfortunate that we have to relocate out of state and are unable to take him with us. Teddy lives with us in the house, although when it’s between 10-65 degrees prefers to stay outside. Adores company and evening walks. Playful, never bitten anyone but insists on personal space. Won’t bark unless he means it. A typical Akita. Very intelligent, never treated with aggression, never involved in dog fights although other dogs may feel intimidated by him when walking by and he could care less about them. Looking for a caring home for him, an experienced handler who would enjoy his company. Akitas are loyal to his owner and it will be a hard farewell but I’m sure he senses our distress about this whole situation. I would prefer to meet with future owners and spend some time to accommodate both parties. Rehoming fee is not a priority, obviously. A good, loving home and experienced with big dogs is. Thank you.

If you like them BIG and floppy, Simba fits that detail. This dude was a loved family member but they had to relocate and left him with another friend. Unfortunately, they could not see him any longer due to no fault of his own and he needed a complete restart. This is a 3 year old baby who has never met a stranger. He is good with all humans and loves all the humans of all sizes. Due to his massive size, he would do best with kids over ten and is fine with cats. He is still learning dogs are great after never having socialized with them, but he is taking life in strides. Come meet this hunk today!

Keyoko is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She had been living a good life until her owner died and she - and her buddy Zeus - suddenly found themselves at the shelter with nowhere to go. One of our wonderful fosters has agreed to take both of them in until we can find their new forever homes. In addition, a kind supporter has sponsored part of her adoption fee to help her get settled soon. At 8yrs old, Keyoko is still playful and loves to cuddle with her people. Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! NOT!! I am a snuggle bug looking for tummy scratches....I willl MELT for one!! Here is what one of our amazing fosters have to say about Dakota...."Super freaking sweet, loves loves belly rubs, is very strong when you walk him but listens well. VERY treat motivated and knows sit down paw and i just taught him roll over yesterday but its a work in progress 😝. Super playful, he will pounce around you and then roll over for belly rubs and absolutely melts for the belly rubs and kisses" I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!! Dash is a 2½-year-old Husky mix with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life! He was found as a stray and luckily, he had a microchip. We had no luck with his owner but found out he was with CACC multiple times in 2025. He has just been in and out of the shelter system for so long. Now, he’s more than ready for stability and a true forever home. Dash is high-energy and loves to go 100 mph. Zoomies are his specialty, and he’ll happily run laps around us on a retractable lead in the field to help burn off that Husky stamina. He thrives on activity and would do best with an active family committed to providing plenty of daily exercise—both physical and mental. Long walks, hikes, runs, puzzle toys, and structured playtime will help this fun-loving guy be his very best self. Because of his high energy, zooms, and being mouthy during playtime, Dash is looking for a home without young children (8+). He does well with other dogs that can appreciate (and keep up with!) his big personality and impressive endurance. Dash is hoping this is the LAST time he ever has to call a shelter home. He’s ready to trade kennel life for couch cuddles, outdoor adventures, and a family who will love him for the energetic, spirited companion he is. Zoey is a 5yo Siberian husky. I found Zoey two years ago advertised as "Free Siberian Husky." I was extremely alarmed when I saw this and responded explaining to the lady that dogs advertised as free are in danger of being taken to fight. She told me that she also had gotten Zoey for free from a woman that got her from a rescue. She said Zoey had no problems and that her reason was that they had a baby. She gave Zoey to me and disappeared. The rescue that she came from is also no more. Zoey is a wonderful dog but she has obviously had some trauma. She startels when she woken and snaps and growls when her lines are crossed, she's a husky. She has bitten (she immediate feels terrible). Zoey would be an excellent companion for the right person. She is smart, loving, friendly and loves to be with people. She is great with most dogs, she is not great with our other dog. They have decided they can't live together and we can no longer keep her. The situation is urgent.
