He prefers being the sole focus of attention, so we are looking for an adopter who has no other pets or young children. His ideal adopter is someone who understands the Akita temperament and can provide a structured, patient, and loving environment.Vortex has a gentle side he reveals to those he trusts, making him a wonderfully affectionate companion. He enjoys his walks and quiet time with his human and will be a loyal friend through thick and thin.Requirements: Martingale Collar; • Akita or large breed experience: Vortex’s strong-willed nature will do best with someone familiar with Akitas. • Calm, consistent leadership: He thrives under clear guidance and a calm, stable household. • No other pets or young children: Vortex is happiest as the center of his human’s attention.If you’re ready to welcome this regal, loving boy into your life and provide the safe, structured environment he deserves, Vortex would love to meet you. We rescued Kuma from an unwanted home. He is the brother of our dog. But unfortunately he doesn't get along with cats and we have one. He is very loving, loves to be pet and is extremely loyal. He is protective and like to be outside. Perfect for a couple or single person that looks for a dog that won't leave his or her side. He is 5 years old. He is due for his annual visit. He is house trained as well.

Milo is a 2 year old akita who I’ve had since he was 3 months old. He has competed a 3 month on leash obedience training and is very obedient when leashed. While he is very friendly with people he warms up to, he has aggressive/ reactive tendencies to new people - mainly when in the house. While he does not actively go after people, he will try and bite someone who tries to pet him if they are strangers. He is very active dog and honestly is a great companion. While he absolutely adores me, I do have issues with him jumping and play biting as well. If anyone who has experience with the Akita breed and is looking for a great new addition to their home, I would love to find him a home where he can live his fullest life in a loving home. While it is extremely hard for me to even think about finding him a new home, I know he can find someone who is able to understand his issues better and knows how to deal with his behavioral issues.

Full blooded Akita with papers and AKC bloodline papers. Bought from a breeder in Virginia. He is a good dog with my family,but our home is getting smaller with daughter being born. Active duty and deploy soon. Once he gets to know you he will protect you with his life. He's currently 2years old. He loves dry beef or salmon food ,the good kind ,and loves to go on walks. May pull a bit,but he calms down after a block or 2. Has been an inside dog his whole life. Will need heart worm pills & last rabies shot if can't get to vet before I leave. One of the best dogs I've ever had. Sad to let him go,but he needs someone who can give him the love and time he deserves. Has nice silver coat with the trim he gets at Puppy Love/Jacksonville. Is good with OUR children, & 'OK' with other dogs. Just the male territorial thing. Just needs broken in and watched until used to environment and his new people.
