Story
Hannah was rescued from Carson Animal Shelter. She was adopted but returned to the shelter. She has a very sad story. She is Akita/German Shepherd mix, weighs about 56 lbs. She is about 4 yrs old. She is a sweetest dog. She is friendly with people and dogs. Even if dogs nip at her she would walk away. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She was taken to her foster and was there for over a month. One day foster called the rescue and said she was stolen from his car. Foster had AC on for her in the car with all windows closed and doors locked but driver's side door. He went inside the store for few minutes by the time he came back dog was gone ( stolen). Then he got a text from a lady saying how could you throw the dog out of your car window while driving. Foster accidentally forwarded that text to a rescue . Rescue team contacted the number on the text and it was someone who witnessed the foster throwing the dog out of the car window. The witness was going opposite direction and saw foster throwing the dog out of car window. Witness made a turn, got the dog and took Hannah to Carson Animal Shelter. Foster was begging rescue to give the dog back and even wanted to adopt her but rescue team denied it and picked up Hannah from the shelter. Hannah is with rescue now and safe.  She is healthy and nothing major happened to her. Hannah is looking for her forever home, foster or foster to adopt. If you are interested in any of that please contact the rescue  December 17, 2024, 10:09 pm

HIRO is a friendly, affectionate, and strikingly handsome 5 year old male Japanese/American Akita. He was surrendered to rescue after his family had to relocate to Korea and were unable to take Hiro with them. Hiro is a medium-large sized Akita, and weighs about 80lbs. He has a beautiful, soft, shiny blond coat and the sweetest, brightest dark brown eyes.  Hiro was very socialized as a young Akita, and has an easy-going temperament. He loves walks, car rides, or just hanging out with you. He would love nothing more than to be your loyal, lifelong, companion.     Visit our website at www.akitaangels.org. Story
Ruger is an incredibly handsome 4 year old purebred American Akita. He is friendly to new people, affectionate with those he knows, and likes to play tug-o-war! When it's time to sleep, Ruger carries his "baby" (stuffed animal) around and then snuggles up with it.  Before coming into rescue, Ruger lived in a home with kids, and another dog. We think he would be happiest being an only dog, and in a home with  Like most Akitas, Ruger will do best in a home without other dogs, or children under the age of 18. Story
MAIKO needs a Miracle - - - LOVELAND, COLORADO   Maiko has lived his entire life with his family, and after facing a life-changing situation, they have no other option but to rehome him. He has been loved - intensely - since he was a pup, and is well socialized, but like many Akitas, he would do best as an only dog in the home and in a home with kids older than 10.   He is going to turn 8 in March, is neutered, up to date with all his vaccinations, and is microchipped. He has no known health issues and has never been involved in a bite incident with a human or other dog.   His family is devastated and has asked for our help in rehoming him, and avoid him having to be moved to Southern California. Please share this post. He is located in Loveland, Colorado (Just North of Denver). October 22, 2024, 12:35 pm

The REALLY AWESOME DOGS don't stay long in rescue, and Sonny will be one of them. If you are ready to adopt and need a little more HAPPY in your life then come meet Sonny! This young (about a year old) and gorgeous guy is happy, playful, and incredibly smart. He loves to play tug-o-war, catch a ball, splash in water if he is lucky enough to have access to a small plastic kid's pool! It's not HIS fault his Human could not keep him, and like all dogs that live in the moment, he just wants to LOVE. He is dog-friendly (with other playful and respectful dogs) and would do great with an active family with kids. Sonny is in a foster home in Southern California (Santa Clarita Valley) and is Ready to Meet YOU now! Sonny is happy, healthy, neutered, has all current vaccinations, and is microchipped. He has his very own duffel bag which contains his brand new collar, leash, bed, bowl, and bag of high quality dog food. My owner's mom tried to take care of me and my brother Ramen, but she was too depressed. In addition her landlord threatened her with animal control if we stayed. You can tell us apart as my left eye is brown and my right eye is blue, both Ramen's eyes are brown.I do great around people, children, other dogs and cats too. I was at a mobile where they had ducks, goats, sheep and horses. Although I was intrigued, I did not lunge or bark at them.I was fortunate to go to a home overnight during our evacuation from the surrounding fires. They called me a spectacular boy who was the perfect houseguest. I was gentle and calm the entire time I was there. I was curious but respectful and listened to whatever I was asked. In that home was a little dog and 2 cats. I was completely respectful of the little dog and the cats. We all hung out together and did great. When we were outside in the yard, one of the cats ran and I playfully gave chase, but it was clear to them I meant no harm, but they corrected me from doing that anyway. They also said I was house trained, no accidents. When asked, I gracefully and agreeably did the commands sit, paw, down and stay. They can't believe I haven't found my forever home yet.I take treats very gently, walk well on a leash and do well in a crate for car rides. I need sturdy fencing as I can get over a 4 foot fence when I get bored/lonely. My favorite things are being with my person, playing with toys, cuddling and getting belly rubs. A CARL volunteer describes my energy level as calm and confident. If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application.December 15, 2024, 8:29 pm

Available to foster or adopt!Breed: Husky/Shepherd X DOB: 11/2018 Gender: male Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: large Color(s): white / charcoal Description: ***Needs a Foster Home*** This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application. Hi, I'm Ruger, a handsome Husky / Shepherd X in need of a new home as sadly my owner can no longer care for me due to medical reasons and having to move to an assisted living facility. I'm grateful to CARL for accepting me into their adoption program. I know they will help me find my forever home. I enjoy being with people, going on walks or going to the dog park. I'm sweet, lovable and very active. I love to cuddle, receive belly rubs and I think I'm a lap dog. I need a home with no cats and with a fence at least 6 feet tall. I'm choosy with other dogs, so if you have a fur baby in the home already, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet. I'm very food protective around other dogs, so we'd have to be fed separately. I've lived my life with a retired adult, but I am great with children and adults. I'm used to sleeping on the bed with my owner or on the sofa. Hopefully you'll allow me to do the same. If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application to meet me.November 7, 2024, 11:05 am
