Story
HIRO is a friendly, affectionate, and strikingly handsome 5 year old male Japanese/American Akita. He was surrendered to rescue after his family had to relocate to Korea and were unable to take Hiro with them. Hiro is a medium-large sized Akita, and weighs about 80lbs. He has a beautiful, soft, shiny blond coat and the sweetest, brightest dark brown eyes.  Hiro was very socialized as a young Akita, and has an easy-going temperament. He loves walks, car rides, or just hanging out with you. He would love nothing more than to be your loyal, lifelong, companion.     Visit our website at www.akitaangels.org. Story
Ruger is an incredibly handsome 4 year old purebred American Akita. He is friendly to new people, affectionate with those he knows, and likes to play tug-o-war! When it's time to sleep, Ruger carries his "baby" (stuffed animal) around and then snuggles up with it.  Before coming into rescue, Ruger lived in a home with kids, and another dog. We think he would be happiest being an only dog, and in a home with  Like most Akitas, Ruger will do best in a home without other dogs, or children under the age of 18. Story
MAIKO needs a Miracle - - - LOVELAND, COLORADO   Maiko has lived his entire life with his family, and after facing a life-changing situation, they have no other option but to rehome him. He has been loved - intensely - since he was a pup, and is well socialized, but like many Akitas, he would do best as an only dog in the home and in a home with kids older than 10.   He is going to turn 8 in March, is neutered, up to date with all his vaccinations, and is microchipped. He has no known health issues and has never been involved in a bite incident with a human or other dog.   His family is devastated and has asked for our help in rehoming him, and avoid him having to be moved to Southern California. Please share this post. He is located in Loveland, Colorado (Just North of Denver). October 22, 2024, 12:35 pm

Story
The REALLY AWESOME DOGS don't stay long in rescue, and Sonny will be one of them. If you are ready to adopt and need a little more HAPPY in your life then come meet Sonny! This young (about a year old) and gorgeous guy is happy, playful, and incredibly smart. He loves to play tug-o-war, catch a ball, splash in water if he is lucky enough to have access to a small plastic kid's pool! It's not HIS fault his Human could not keep him, and like all dogs that live in the moment, he just wants to LOVE. He is dog-friendly (with other playful and respectful dogs) and would do great with an active family with kids. Sonny is in a foster home in Southern California (Santa Clarita Valley) and is Ready to Meet YOU now! Sonny is happy, healthy, neutered, has all current vaccinations, and is microchipped. He has his very own duffel bag which contains his brand new collar, leash, bed, bowl, and bag of high quality dog food. To meet Sonny, please reach out to us: angels@akitaangels.org October 22, 2024, 12:35 pm

Available to foster or adopt!Breed: Husky/Shepherd X DOB: 11/2018 Gender: male Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: large Color(s): white / charcoal Description: ***Needs a Foster Home*** This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application. Hi, I'm Ruger, a handsome Husky / Shepherd X in need of a new home as sadly my owner can no longer care for me due to medical reasons and having to move to an assisted living facility. I'm grateful to CARL for accepting me into their adoption program. I know they will help me find my forever home. I enjoy being with people, going on walks or going to the dog park. I'm sweet, lovable and very active. I love to cuddle, receive belly rubs and I think I'm a lap dog. I need a home with no cats and with a fence at least 6 feet tall. I'm choosy with other dogs, so if you have a fur baby in the home already, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet. I'm very food protective around other dogs, so we'd have to be fed separately. I've lived my life with a retired adult, but I am great with children and adults. I'm used to sleeping on the bed with my owner or on the sofa. Hopefully you'll allow me to do the same. If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application to meet me.November 7, 2024, 11:05 am

Story
Breed: Siberian Husky DOB: 12/2021 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: large Color(s): white / apricot Description: Hi, I'm Raya, a beautiful Siberian Husky who is in need of a new home as the dog already in the home does not want me around. I'm incredibly affectionate and loyal to my family with a lot of love to give. I'm a great companion to kids and other dogs, but cats are a no-go. I'm very people-oriented and will do best in a home where someone is around most of the time since I experience separation anxiety. I'm smart and very treat motivated, which should make training me a lot easier. I was working on crate training with my original owners, but I wasn't fond of it. With a little patience and positive reinforcement I know I can learn to be ok with it. I'm mostly a quiet pup who only gets vocal when left alone or cannot be near my people. If you're inside, I won't enjoy being left out in the backyard by myself or vise versa. I enjoy a good ride in the car and I'm always ready for an adventure - as long as it's with my people. I prefer sleeping with my people, so hopefully there is room for me on your bed. I walk well on leash as long as my pack stays together. If anyone gets ahead or lags behind I'll try to gather everyone back together. I'm a good-natured girl with a positive disposition, who's just looking for someone to give me and for me to give them lots of attention and love. If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application to meet me.February 11, 2025, 12:38 pm
