Paisley was found outside wet and cold in a rainstorm. She was so cute we brought her home for the night intending to take her to the spca the next day. Of course we fell in love with her and kept her. She is a sweet dog that loves to play. We are an older couple however and she needs more exercise than we can give her.

Meet HIROMI HIROMI was turned into the shelter as a found dog. No one ever came for her. Despite being failed by her former person, this sweetheart remains devoted and loving. After Hiromi’s arrival she was initially timid and lacked confidence. She can still be somewhat apprehensive but she has opened up and trusted us enough to let her true colors shine! She is silly, sensitive, refreshingly affectionate, playful and a free spirit. Her absolute favorite past time is to be showered with love and give it in return. Her gentle, resilient nature is inspiring but not surprising. Hiromi is very communicative by expressing a multitude of emotions with her eyes. Her body language is inviting and she understands how to use it to subtly let you know what’s on her mind. She is also an Akita so stubbornness is part of her DNA! Her ideal adopter should have a calm home environment and be able to provide consistency and a daily routine, where she can continue to expand her horizons. Hiromi gets excited for her daily walks and is a great traveler! She seems non-reactive to other dogs and might do well with a mellow male dog. She is approx 4 yrs old and weighs 57 lbs. She is also crate and house trained. She is ready to pledge her love and devotion! Are you?! Meet TOBI We don't know much about Tobi's past, but his future is very bright. He is a big boy with a heart the size to match. He is a gentle giant with a gregarious, carefree attitude and is eager to learn and experience the world. He is game for adventure and deserves to have that special someone to accompany him in life. Tobi is playful and has a welcoming aura about him. He also has an unabashed, confident side to him. He's just not sure how he ended up here, and we're making sure he never has to wonder that ever again. He is best as an only dog and someone with previous Akita experience is best. Tobi is approximately 5 yrs old, and due to his size should be on a good quality joint supplement. He's only been with us a short time, so will need to gain a few pounds to look his best, but he's already on his way to showing us his beautiful soul. Meet Emi Emi’s sleek, brindle coat is a thing of beauty and so magnificent to behold. Engaging, charismatic, gregarious, and spirited are the first things you sense about her from the moment she enters a room. Emi exudes a brand of joy that makes her impossible to resist! Not until you witness her graceful elegance and see a bit of frost around her muzzle, do you realize she is a senior beauty with an abundance of life experiences to share. She’s 8 yrs old and has found herself homeless, but she’s seen enough in life to know there’s still a wonderous journey ahead. She is a lover of people and she’d much rather be enjoying a fun adventure with you by her side on interesting walks or trips to the beach, than be left at home alone. She needs to be an only dog and is not suitable with cats. She is approximately 60 lbs. and seems unaware she has some arthritis and hip dysplasia. But as you can see, she enjoys playing with her toys and doing tricks for treats. Her healthy curiosity keeps her engaged in life’s adventures, though she also loves her beauty naps. **Currently in foster** I'm introducing myself to you as a very independent, a little shy, and intelligent dog. My name is XL Duck. And I didn't grow up socializing with people a lot. So it takes me some time to get used to new human beings. But once I know you, you are my best friend. I love running, and running, and running. I met quite a few dogs at the shelter, and they all became my friends therefore I'd love the company of another dog in my new home! When I was in a foster home, I was quiet and non-destructive, but preferred the company of other dogs. Bruno is currently about two years old, and his birthday is August 28th. Whenever certain food is getting cooked or is brought in by the family, you can expect Bruno to observe with great expectation and passion. He understands the meaning of "sit", but can be very stubborn about sitting or other actions, especially when told "no". When in the right mood, he can play, and oh boy does he love to play a lot. Although caution should be taken when playing with him due to his nails. He can get loud when he argues or barks, but generally does not partake in this action often. This is especially nice if someone knocks or is near, as most occasions he does not bark or howl. He can take some getting used to strangers, but after a while he will bark/howl less and be more accepting of them. Once given a routine to walk, he will both want and crave to go outside. He also loves the rain and cold. He tends to argue for bath time though. Character limit stops me from saying more. He is a good boy.
