Story
This pup is nothing short of amazing and has the best parts of a shepherd and an Akita. He wants to be part of the family and he will protect them until the bitter end. Kai wants a family so bad and has a strong love for the people who take care of him. Once he has settled in, Kai's happiness fills the home with joy. When you come home from a long day at work, Kai is there to greet you and wants nothing more than to listen and smell all about your day. This young loving amazing Shepherd gives unconditional love, and only wants to please you and take every command. He can be a little timid, but once he learns your love, he is extremely obedient and loving. Once you earn his love, that’s all you’re gonna get from him. He is a good boy who has been through some tough times who just wants a family all to his own. Kai currently lives with other dogs and does well with most of them. There are more assertive dogs that Kai is not a fan of. Kai is not recommended to live with cats due to prey drive. Kai has met children and done well with them with proper introductions, but would likely do best with older children only given his timid nature when first meeting new people. Kai would do best in a home that is experienced with Akitas, Shepherds, or a similar breed. Kai is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption. If you would like to meet Kai to see if he is a good fit for your family, please fill out our short adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Upon receipt of your application, one of our passionate volunteers will call you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet.

Story
I got shark from family friends whose dogs had puppies on june 1st 2024. Shark is very active loving friendly soft innocent puppy. He has anxiety around aggressive dogs because he was attacked by a cane corse at a dog park on day and ever since he won’t want to be near dogs that seem mean. He’s the sweetest dog and I love him so much but I don’t have time in my schedule to train him properly or give him the care that he deserves he’s a very bright smart happy dog with an adventurous spirit. He has fomo and loves the beach and the cold since he’s has husky in him and I would love to find a home perfect for his needs to play and learn new things as well as being active in nature. Thank you

Story
Meet HIROMI HIROMI was turned into the shelter as a found dog. No one ever came for her. Despite being failed by her former person, this sweetheart remains devoted and loving. After Hiromi’s arrival she was initially timid and lacked confidence. She can still be somewhat apprehensive but she has opened up and trusted us enough to let her true colors shine! She is silly, sensitive, refreshingly affectionate, playful and a free spirit. Her absolute favorite past time is to be showered with love and give it in return. Her gentle, resilient nature is inspiring but not surprising. Hiromi is very communicative by expressing a multitude of emotions with her eyes. Her body language is inviting and she understands how to use it to subtly let you know what’s on her mind. She is also an Akita so stubbornness is part of her DNA! Her ideal adopter should have a calm home environment and be able to provide consistency and a daily routine, where she can continue to expand her horizons. Hiromi gets excited for her daily walks and is a great traveler! She seems non-reactive to other dogs and might do well with a mellow male dog. She is approx 4 yrs old and weighs 57 lbs. She is also crate and house trained. She is ready to pledge her love and devotion! Are you?! Story
Meet TOBI We don't know much about Tobi's past, but his future is very bright. He is a big boy with a heart the size to match. He is a gentle giant with a gregarious, carefree attitude and is eager to learn and experience the world. He is game for adventure and deserves to have that special someone to accompany him in life. Tobi is playful and has a welcoming aura about him. He also has an unabashed, confident side to him. He's just not sure how he ended up here, and we're making sure he never has to wonder that ever again. He is best as an only dog and someone with previous Akita experience is best. Tobi is approximately 5 yrs old, and due to his size should be on a good quality joint supplement. He's only been with us a short time, so will need to gain a few pounds to look his best, but he's already on his way to showing us his beautiful soul. Story
Meet Emi Emi’s sleek, brindle coat is a thing of beauty and so magnificent to behold. Engaging, charismatic, gregarious, and spirited are the first things you sense about her from the moment she enters a room. Emi exudes a brand of joy that makes her impossible to resist! Not until you witness her graceful elegance and see a bit of frost around her muzzle, do you realize she is a senior beauty with an abundance of life experiences to share. She’s 8 yrs old and has found herself homeless, but she’s seen enough in life to know there’s still a wonderous journey ahead. She is a lover of people and she’d much rather be enjoying a fun adventure with you by her side on interesting walks or trips to the beach, than be left at home alone. She needs to be an only dog and is not suitable with cats. She is approximately 60 lbs. and seems unaware she has some arthritis and hip dysplasia. But as you can see, she enjoys playing with her toys and doing tricks for treats. Her healthy curiosity keeps her engaged in life’s adventures, though she also loves her beauty naps. Please don’t let her age deter you from considering giving her a home. Her heart is overflowing with love. If you are interested in Emi, please complete our adoption application in the link below. I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereAngelica is a charming puppy with an adorable blend of breeds, possibly including Corgi, Shepherd, Cattle Dog, and maybe even a touch of Akita (foster family’s best guesses!). She has the cutest lopsided ears—one up and one down—that add to her unique personality. This playful girl thrives on praise, making training sessions both fun and rewarding. She already knows “sit” and is working on other commands! Angelica is great with kids and loves other dogs, making her an ideal addition to a family with pets. She adores water and will happily jump in the shower with you—baths are definitely her favorite! Plus, she has a sweet habit of following you around like a shadow, always wanting to be by your side. When you talk to her, she’ll cock her head, soaking in every word.  Working on crate training and is still in the stage of putting everything in her mouth, so she will need positive reinforcement/rewards based training to guide her. If you’re looking for a smart, loving, active puppy, Angelica is the perfect match! Click here to learn how to adopt, and submit your adoption questionnaire.December 20, 2024, 4:03 pm

Story
Nieko is the rare find - a husky that can be secured! This sweet boy is crate trained and will not try to escape or destroy his crate! He chills very well while his foster mom is at work, and goes straight into his crate with no issues when cued. Nieko already knows sit and lay down. He is working on the "quiet" cue because he certainly likes to talk (in true husky fashion). Check out Nieko's video playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVb0fq1O6CwnPFLTh_TcjDLWhtFmpZgN3 Nieko is a sweetheart who is gentle when taking food and treats from your hand. He loves to have his belly rubbed by those he trusts. He also loves to run and play tag! His foster will slowly creep towards him and he gets so excited to play along in the game. Nieko is very treat motivated and very smart. He knows to sit before he leaves the crate and before he goes out the door to go outside. Nieko rarely barks outside, except to let his foster mom know that he is ready to go back inside. When inside, as stated he can be pretty talkative with everyone passing by. Nieko is a very attentive and sweet boy, but he will make you earn that trust and affection. He is an excellent walker on leash and is very sensitive to even the slight pressure by responding right away to follow you. Nieko currently lives with other dogs, and does well with them with slow introductions. Nieko is not currently recommended to live with cats. He is moderate energy and may be fine with older children. It is recommended to bring your children to meet him if you are interested in adoption. Nieko is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. All Better World Rescue dogs come with complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption. Story
Akio is the ultimate velcro husky and has the fur to match. He will cling to you and be there to observe what you are doing every minute of the day. This boy does not mind sharing his bed with his humans and favorite children. He is an incredible cuddler and lives for affection. One of his favorite activities is getting all over belly rubs. Check out Akio's video playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVb0fq1O6Cwm_WmZYio3lFz7fX0tN3l__ Akio loves to play, whether it is chasing his ball around the yard or playing tug of rope with you. He gets morning zoomies where he loves to run around the house, up the stairs and then back again. He will fill your mornings with fun and play, starting off your day on the right foot. Akio is moderate energy, which is nice in a husky. He enjoys short walks, couch time, brushing, fetch and tug of war. His favorite toys are rope toys and balls! Akio currently lives with children and does great with them. He is a very affectionate boy. We believe Akio would also be fine with other dogs with slow introductions. He is polite and respectful when he sees them out and about at the vet office or groomers. We are not sure how Akio would do with cats as he does not currently live with any. Akio is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption. If you would like to meet Akio to see if he is a good fit for your family, please fill out our short adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Upon receipt of your application, one of our passionate volunteers will call within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet.
