Story
Simba has spent too long waiting for his forever family. 💔 This strong and spirited Akita-Husky mix is full of energy, loves his toys, and is happiest on long walks or playing with his human. He’s sweet, loyal, and ready for the right home. If you’re looking for a dog with personality and heart, Simba is waiting to meet you! 🐕 Adopt Simba: https://form.jotform.com/221926016430144 Full profile: Simba is a 6-8-year-old Akita-Husky mix with the personality of an Akita and the heart of a lion. He’s playful, sweet, and full of energy but needs a confident and strong adopter who understands his needs. 💪 Strength & Training: Simba is powerful and can pull when excited, so he needs someone physically capable of managing his strength. He’s learning commands like sit, down, paw, and “potty” and thrives with structure. A harness might help with his pulling. 🐾 Energy & Personality: Simba is not always a couch potato! He loves long walks (2+ miles is no problem), playing with his toys, and getting plenty of attention. He’s affectionate and cuddly but always ready for adventure. 🏡 Home Needs: Simba would do best in a home without small children due to his strength and energy. He’s good with other dogs, especially more timid ones, but does best with boundaries around toys and space. He’s also quite the counter-surfer, so keeping things out of reach is key! 🐕 Health: Simba has a thyroid condition that is managed with treatment, giving him renewed energy and playfulness. Simba has had a lot of love and care from his foster, but he’s ready to find his forever home. If you’re looking for a strong, loyal, and playful companion, Simba could be your perfect match. 💙 Ready to meet Simba? Apply to adopt him and give this big-hearted boy the home he deserves. 📌 Share to help Simba find his forever home Currently being cared in Southern California, but can be transported up to northern states, such as Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and anywhere within the US continental, if a great suitable family is willing to adopt him.

Story
Sex: FemaleBreed: Husky xEstimated Date of Birth : 10/16/2022Are you looking for cute, bubbly and fun? Then sweet Gretel is definitely the one! She’s an adorable ball of enthusiasm and loves playtime just as much as she loves every once of affection people bring. She wears a permanent smile on her face and would love nothing more than a family willing to commit to her for a lifetime. We want to make that happen so this sweet girl is headed into Pawsitive Change at Tehachapi State Prison! Sadly Gretel and her brother Hansel came to us as unwanted dogs. Both tied unceremoniously to  the sign at our rescue ranch’s entrance after hours. They were lucky they didn’t break free, get hit by a car or get eaten by wildlife. We can’t imagine how scared they must have been or how betrayed they must have felt being dumped in such a heartless fashion. We’ve committed ourselves to ensuring both Gretel and her brother never experience something like that again. Gretel was never exposed to much before her time in our care but we’re making up for lost time and socializing this sweet girl with the sights and sounds of life. She’s young and lapping it all up. Our ranches wide open spaces allow for lots of socialization and playtime opportunities and Gretel loves all the play and running around. Pawsitive Change will give her another opportunity to learn and grow. She’ll spend the next 3 months learning all she can and once she’s completed the program she’ll be adoption ready. We can’t wait to find her the perfect home! If you are interested in adopting a Marley's Mutts please fill out an application at http://marleysmutts.org/adoptionprocess/

Story
Sex: MaleBreed: Husky/Labrador Retriever xEstimated Date of Birth : 05/08/2023Looking for goofy, happy and a bit of a class clown? What about a fluffy teddy bear face willing to give endless hugs? Then you’ve got to meet Kai! This boy is just happy 100% of the time. He thinks every human is his very best friend ready to give unlimited amounts of love and every dog is his new favorite playmate ready for all the adventures they will find. His happy go lucky personality made him the perfect fit for our Tehachapi Pawsitive Change program. The handler’s could use the instant affection and joy and Kai would absolutely benefit from the training they’ll provide. As happy as this sweet boy is someone discarded him on the streets. Discarded without a care and no resources to keep him safe. But Kai and his bubbly nature found some humans to help and those Good Samaritans kept him safe until rescue placement could be found. Kai has never looked back and enbraces each change with the enthusiasm of a dog ready to live his life no matter where life is going to take him. For the next 3 months Kai’s enthusiasm is going to spread throughout the prison walls at Tehachapi State prison and in turn his trainers will work on his basic obedience skills and impulse control. Kai will gain the knowledge he needs to find adopters and we are confident his bright spirit will be just a bit brighter once training is complete. So if you’re looking for the happiest of dogs, one guaranteed to bring a smile to your face, consider giving Kai his chance at adoption and a family to call his own.
