Story
Kazhem is a very handsome, somewhat shy Akita mix who warms up slowly to new people. But once he is comfortable he will share his goofy personality with you, running zoomies in the grass and showing off his great smile and happy tail wag.He gets along great with other dogs on the beach, the trails and probably in the dog park, but would prefer to be the only doggo in his forever home. Once Kazhem bonds with you he`s very devoted and wants to be with you all the time. Retirees, professionals who work at home, and anyone else who could make him a part of their daily life would be his dream family!

I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereAngelica is a charming puppy with an adorable blend of breeds, possibly including Corgi, Shepherd, Cattle Dog, and maybe even a touch of Akita (foster family’s best guesses!). She has the cutest lopsided ears—one up and one down—that add to her unique personality. This playful girl thrives on praise, making training sessions both fun and rewarding. She already knows “sit” and is working on other commands! Angelica is great with kids and loves other dogs, making her an ideal addition to a family with pets. She adores water and will happily jump in the shower with you—baths are definitely her favorite! Plus, she has a sweet habit of following you around like a shadow, always wanting to be by your side. When you talk to her, she’ll cock her head, soaking in every word.  Working on crate training and is still in the stage of putting everything in her mouth, so she will need positive reinforcement/rewards based training to guide her. If you’re looking for a smart, loving, active puppy, Angelica is the perfect match! Click here to learn how to adopt, and submit your adoption questionnaire.December 20, 2024, 4:03 pm

Story
Meet HIROMI HIROMI was turned into the shelter as a found dog. No one ever came for her. Despite being failed by her former person, this sweetheart remains devoted and loving. After Hiromi’s arrival she was initially timid and lacked confidence. She can still be somewhat apprehensive but she has opened up and trusted us enough to let her true colors shine! She is silly, sensitive, refreshingly affectionate, playful and a free spirit. Her absolute favorite past time is to be showered with love and give it in return. Her gentle, resilient nature is inspiring but not surprising. Hiromi is very communicative by expressing a multitude of emotions with her eyes. Her body language is inviting and she understands how to use it to subtly let you know what’s on her mind. She is also an Akita so stubbornness is part of her DNA! Her ideal adopter should have a calm home environment and be able to provide consistency and a daily routine, where she can continue to expand her horizons. Hiromi gets excited for her daily walks and is a great traveler! She seems non-reactive to other dogs and might do well with a mellow male dog. She is approx 4 yrs old and weighs 57 lbs. She is also crate and house trained. She is ready to pledge her love and devotion! Are you?! Story
Meet TOBI We don't know much about Tobi's past, but his future is very bright. He is a big boy with a heart the size to match. He is a gentle giant with a gregarious, carefree attitude and is eager to learn and experience the world. He is game for adventure and deserves to have that special someone to accompany him in life. Tobi is playful and has a welcoming aura about him. He also has an unabashed, confident side to him. He's just not sure how he ended up here, and we're making sure he never has to wonder that ever again. He is best as an only dog and someone with previous Akita experience is best. Tobi is approximately 5 yrs old, and due to his size should be on a good quality joint supplement. He's only been with us a short time, so will need to gain a few pounds to look his best, but he's already on his way to showing us his beautiful soul. Story
Meet Emi Emi’s sleek, brindle coat is a thing of beauty and so magnificent to behold. Engaging, charismatic, gregarious, and spirited are the first things you sense about her from the moment she enters a room. Emi exudes a brand of joy that makes her impossible to resist! Not until you witness her graceful elegance and see a bit of frost around her muzzle, do you realize she is a senior beauty with an abundance of life experiences to share. She’s 8 yrs old and has found herself homeless, but she’s seen enough in life to know there’s still a wonderous journey ahead. She is a lover of people and she’d much rather be enjoying a fun adventure with you by her side on interesting walks or trips to the beach, than be left at home alone. She needs to be an only dog and is not suitable with cats. She is approximately 60 lbs. and seems unaware she has some arthritis and hip dysplasia. But as you can see, she enjoys playing with her toys and doing tricks for treats. Her healthy curiosity keeps her engaged in life’s adventures, though she also loves her beauty naps. Please don’t let her age deter you from considering giving her a home. Her heart is overflowing with love. If you are interested in Emi, please complete our adoption application in the link below. Story
It breaks my heart to write this, but I need to find Mochi a new home. She's an 8-year-old Gerbarian Shepsky with a spirit full of energy and love, but due to some major changes in my life, I can no longer provide her with the active lifestyle she truly deserves. Mochi is a special soul. She's the perfect companion for daily walks and playful moments. She thrives when she's out and about, and her zest for life is contagious. But as much as I want to give her all the attention and activity she needs, my current circumstances no longer allow me to do that. I want her to find a family who can offer her the exercise and playtime she thrives on, someone who will appreciate her playful and calm energy and provide the love and attention she's always given me. If you are looking for a loving, chill companion and have the time and space for an active dog, Mochi could be the perfect fit for your home. She deserves to continue living a joyful life and I want nothing more than to see her loved.
