Looks like: Akita mix Female, 10 years old (estimated), 62 pounds Jabulani, lovingly nicknamed Jabu for short, is a sweet girl looking to affectionately nuzzle her way into your heart. This precious girl absolutely adores being in the company of her human companions. She greets everyone she meets with a curly tailed tail wag and lots of slobbery kisses. She also makes sure to show off her agile spins and funny vocalizations to wow her new friends. She is an energetic and active pup that would love to go for long walks, spend some time playing fetch in the yard, training using positive reinforcement methods, and enjoying a nice food puzzle. Big and beautiful Jabu prefers to be the apple of her person's eye, for this reason she would be perfectly happy as a solo dog. This elegant and refined young lady would prefer a home without tiny little hands as she enjoys her space after meals and that can be hard for kiddos to understand. Jabu really loves her people and can be heard whining and complaining when left at home alone. With some support from our behavior team you should be able to work through her very mild separation anxiety. This sweet girl joined us after her guardian sadly passed away unexpectedly.

Meet Wyatt!-2 year old neutered male Husky mix (Husky mix is simply a guess!)-Weighs 50lbs-No history from her previous home as he came in as a stray-Enjoys being active with his human friends – playing with toys & going for hikes! -Has made some dog friends at the Shelter including Nova, Minnie Minshew & Rocky!-Appears to be on the way towards being housetrained but may need some reminders in the transition to his next home-No history with cats-No history with children.Now through December 17th, BISSELL Pet Foundations is sponsoring reduced adoption fees and we are participating! Adoption fees for all cats and dogs are reduced to $50.Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

HI - MY NAME IS MISTO, and I was recently rescued from a very scary California shelter, where I was terrified. I even growled at people, according to the shelter. I am starting to come around, but I will need a quiet home wit someone who can be patient while I learn to trust again. I apparently was surrendered by my previous owner, who had better things to do than take care of me. As we enter the holiday season, I hope someone will see me and want to adopt me. I am young (age soon to be determined) and am a beautiful boy, with stunning blue eyes. We will test with dogs in the coming days. Can you foster or adopt me?
