Kazhem is a very handsome, somewhat shy Akita mix who warms up slowly to new people. But once he is comfortable he will share his goofy personality with you, running zoomies in the grass and showing off his great smile and happy tail wag.He gets along great with other dogs on the beach, the trails and probably in the dog park, but would prefer to be the only doggo in his forever home. Once Kazhem bonds with you he`s very devoted and wants to be with you all the time. Retirees, professionals who work at home, and anyone else who could make him a part of their daily life would be his dream family!

Hiromi was turned into the shelter as a found dog. No one ever came for her. Despite being failed by her former person, this sweetheart remains devoted and loving. After Hiromi’s arrival she was initially timid and lacked confidence. She can still be somewhat apprehensive but in less than 10 days, she has opened up and trusted us enough to let her true colors shine! She is silly, sensitive, refreshingly affectionate, playful and a free spirit. Her absolute favorite past time is to be showered with love and give it in return. Her gentle, resilient nature is inspiring but not surprising. Hiromi is very communicative by expressing a multitude of emotions with her eyes. Her body language is inviting and she understands how to use it to subtly let you know what’s on her mind. She is also an Akita so stubbornness is part of her DNA! Her ideal adopter should have a calm home environment and be able to provide consistency and a daily routine, where she can continue to expand her horizons. Hiromi gets excited for her daily walks and is a great traveler! She greets people with ease as long as they approach with the same calm energy that she emits. She seems non-reactive to other dogs and might do well with a mellow male dog. This gorgeous girl is approximately 4-years old and weighs 57 pounds. She is also crate and house trained. She is ready to pledge her love and devotion! Are you?! Interested in adopting? We don't know much about Tobi's past, but his future is bright.  He is a big boy with a heart the size to match.  He is a gentle giant with a gregarious, carefree attitude and is eager to learn and experience the world. He is game for adventure and deserves to have that special someone to accompany him in life. Tobi is playful and has a welcoming aura about him.  He also has an unabashed, confident side to him.  He's just not sure how he ended up here, and we're making sure he never has to wonder that ever again. He is best as an only dog and someone with previous Akita experience is best. Tobi is approximately 5 yrs old, and due to his size should be on a good quality joint supplement.  He's only been with us a short time, so will need to gain a few pounds to look his best, but he's already on his way to showing us his beautiful soul. Kanoa is simply a great dog! He’s a 1.5-year old, friendly, playful, and very energetic young Akita. He likes people and appears friendly toward dogs when passing them on leash. He also walks very politely on leash and likely wouldn’t mind running, too, if his human companion was so inclined. Everything about Kanoa suggests that he has lived in a home before and will make his lucky new family very happy. Lulu is a very smart girl with a lot of professional training. Lulu loves to hike/walk and swim. She gets along with dogs male or female - would be a great family dog. Lulu came to the Milo Foundation Sanctuary only because her family had received bad new with some medical issues and could no longer care for her. Lulu was very well cared for and loved by her previous family. We are looking for a family to adopt or foster Lulu. .. it's impressive the training Lulu has had with Skully Dogs Training. Our fosters say it best and here's what Tobias' said: Tobias is a gentleman who loves to sit with his paws crossed. When at home, he will calmly keep you company by laying near where ever you are. He is completely potty-trained and sleeps well at night. And while he is the calmest dog at the house, he loves to take long walks. He is GREAT on car rides. He hops right in and loves to stick his head out of the window. He no longer pulls on the leash (unless he sees a squirrel - they are his kryptonite). He is great in public spaces. Tobias has kept me company at many dog-friendly breweries and coffee shops. He can be a bit anxious around sudden movements so it's best to keep a watchful eye when introducing him to kids or other dogs. But if you're looking for someone to add to your pack and keep you company around the house, Tobias is your guy.
