Story
#A5709964 Buddy Rex is a 2-year-old, 55 lb neutered male Border Collie mix with a beautiful sable coat and a strong, loyal spirit. Surrendered by his owner with no notes as to why, Buddy Rex is the definition of a “one-person dog” — deeply devoted, intelligent, and happiest when he has someone he can truly bond with. Buddy Rex is active, playful, and full of joy once he feels comfortable. He loves zoomies and enjoys having space to move and explore. While he may take a little time to warm up and trust new people, once you’re in, you’re his person for life. He’s smart, alert, and would thrive with an experienced adopter who understands loyal, independent breeds and is looking for a true companion rather than a social butterfly. -2 years old, neutered male, 55 lbs -Border Collie mix, sable coat -Owner surrender (no notes provided) -Loyal, intelligent, and one-person oriented -Takes time to build trust but bonds deeply -Active and playful; loves zoomies -Confident, alert, and smart -Best suited for an experienced adopter -Devoted companion looking for a strong, lasting bond     BUDDY’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/KzOtHs6xdNk   For more information, contact volunteer Lisa at lisaa@unitedhopeforanimals.org   ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. Story
#A5739053 Meet Arnie , a 3-year-old Akita mix boy, with a luscious smoky brindle coat that looks like shadows dancing across his back, accented by bright splashes of white on his chest and tippy toes. Though underweight for his size, he already brings a regal, imposing presence - one that will look even more handsome with extra meals, snacks, and plenty of TLC to help him fill out. In the shelter, Arnie can seem shut down and cautious, tail low, but once he warms up, that tail curls high and his true personality shines through. He absolutely adores the ladies, seeming most comfortable around female humans, and would thrive in a female-led household. Friendly, loose-bodied, and social with other dogs - especially active pups - he could make a wonderful playmate or sibling with careful introductions. Best suited for an adults-only home, Arnie will need slow, patient introductions to new people, but the reward is a loyal, loving companion with so much heart to give. Come scoop up this darling boy today!     -3 year old brown brindle Akita mix -64 pound male - not yet neutered due to a little doggy cold, so will need to be adopted on a trust waiver promising to have him neutered as soon as well enough to do so -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! However, he did pick up a little doggy cold at the shelter, so will need to be adopted on a health waiver - adopter to follow up with own vet for further diagnostics and potential treatment  -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 11/17/25 as a stray  -great on leash, definitely seems potty trained, fabulous with other large dogs, and  eager to please, so a good candidate for basic commands/training! -best for an adults only home, with slow intros for any new people     ARNIE’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/O-2ONMc6t0I   For more information, contact volunteer Lisa at lisaa@unitedhopeforanimals.org     ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. Story
Bonded with Batgirl (A136383). Barely a #shelterselfie with another bonded pair Echelon (blonde, M) and Batgirl (fuzzy, F).They are both aged at 8yrs old, and share the energy of having nothing to prove to anyoneanymore (Hazzah to that!). They both loved making new friends and using their time in the yard to get pets from any available hands. They exude happiness and love and absolutely find safety in being with each other. Batgirl is a bit goofier and more curious, with Echelon being a bit more chill and casual, but equally determined to get some attention. They`ll do well in just about anyhome environment, and don`t need a ton of exercise to be happy. Some long walks and an occasional bout of play is about all they`ll need. Echelon has some very classic `dog` goodlooks. Batgirl looks a bit like a very skilled drawing come to life. They`re both incredibly sweet and fun and will be excellent buddies to watch TV on the couch with at the end of every day. These hard to resist fluff balls will make any family more complete- so if that sounds good toyou, head into #burbankanimalshelter and meet this dynamite duo for yourself!
