Story
Looks like: Akita mix Female, 11 years old (estimated), 62 pounds Jabulani, lovingly nicknamed Jabu for short, is a sweet girl looking to affectionately nuzzle her way into your heart. This precious girl absolutely adores being in the company of her human companions. She greets everyone she meets with a curly tailed tail wag and lots of slobbery kisses. She also makes sure to show off her agile spins and funny vocalizations to wow her new friends. She is an energetic and active pup that would love to go for long walks, spend some time playing fetch in the yard, training using positive reinforcement methods, and enjoying a nice food puzzle. Jabu is also a gold medalist at tug-of-war and an expert in squeeky toys. Big and beautiful Jabu prefers to be the apple of her person's eye, for this reason she would be perfectly happy as a solo dog. This elegant and refined young lady would prefer a home without tiny little hands as she enjoys her space after meals and that can be hard for kiddos to understand. Jabu really loves her people and can be heard whining and complaining when left at home alone. With some support from our behavior team you should be able to work through her very mild separation anxiety.Overall, Jabu is a smart and bouncy girl, spinning around when she gets excited and even loves exploring the beach and dipping her paws in the ocean with her humans. This sweet girl joined us after her guardian sadly passed away unexpectedly.

12/19/24 02:43Doggy Day Out Report:Today I: Today I made a new friend and went on a Dog Day Out adventure to the park! I was so excited to meet my new buddy that I couldn’t stop wriggling while they tried to put my harness on. It was a little embarrassing, but hey, I was just that excited!Getting into the car was a bit scary—I’m still working on being brave—but my friend helped me out by picking me up and giving me a treat for being such a good boy. Once we hit the road, I took my job as navigator very seriously, giving lots of kisses to make sure we were heading the right way. When we got to the park, oh boy, the smells were AMAZING! We walked through the park, explored the neighborhoods, and even hiked up some hills. I kept checking in with my friend (and maybe tried to hug them every time I did—oops!). They didn’t seem to mind, though, because I got plenty of treats. Speaking of treats, have I mentioned my favorite sound? It’s the crinkling of a treat bag opening—music to my ears! ??I also showed off my sitting skills while waiting for treats. I nailed it (mostly), but I guess I could work on being more patient...whatever that means.03/05/25 09:18Here is Prospects Tails and Trains Report card for March 3rd, 2025.What did we do on today’s adventure: today I got to go to the park – I wassooooo excited to get out for the morning. I sniffed all the smells, and I madesure to always sniff both sides of the path (wouldn’t want to miss anything). Isaw lots of geese and thought they might be fun to chase (but my friend wouldn’t let me). I showed off my sit for lots of treats, and sometimes tried to get extra treats by sitting without even being asked! I got lots of compliments on what a pretty boy I am, and at the end of our walk I got a pupcup – delish! What should potential adopters know about me: Prospect is a sweet andbeautiful boy. He was very excited to get out for the morning, but it still didn’t take long to get him harnessed up. He can be a little unsure about hopping in the car, but he is very treat motivated so if you toss a treat in the backseat he will hop right in. He is good in the car and sits nicely in the back, he likes to rest his head on your shoulder and give kisses while you are driving. He is a big/strong boy but he has decent leash manners and is pretty good about not pulling, he does like to weave though (have to check out both sides of the path you know). He is non-reactive to other
