Story
Oversized teddy bear seeks snuggle partner. Cuddly, smart, and eager to please, swipe right if you can handle this high energy heart with a soft side. Hatchi’s story is heartbreaking — he came into the shelter with his brother, but when their owner returned, they only took his brother… leaving Hatchi behind in a high-kill shelter. He soon found himself on the euthanasia list. Hatchi is now in a loving foster home and is looking for his forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and supported again. Hatchi does require eye drops daily for the remainder of his life. In our dream world, Hatchi would find a human that would help him feel confident and secure in a FINALLY stable environnment.

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Smallville:1Meet Bellota!   Bellota is a playful, friendly 5-month-old Akita mix who’s ready to find her forever home.   As a young, energetic pup, Bellota will thrive with an adopter who’s ready to invest time in positive-reinforcement training, socialization, and daily enrichment. Starting training now will help her grow into a well-mannered adult. Because of her size and typical puppy mouthiness, a home with dog-savvy teens (around 14+) may be a good fit, while younger children are not recommended at this time.   Bellota may be able to live with another dog, though this would need to be a thoughtful match. She’ll do best with someone who has some dog or large-breed experience and feels comfortable handling a strong, growing pup.   If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate puppy and are ready for the commitment of raising a young dog, Bellota could be a wonderful addition to your family. Come meet her at one of our upcoming adoption events and see if she’s the right match for you!            View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by gon (@thisandafoster) December 26, 2025, 7:26 pm

Brooke is a friendly, playful 5-month-old Akita mix who’s currently in foster and ready to find her forever home. Like many young, large-breed puppies, Brooke will benefit from positive-reinforcement training, continued socialization, and daily mental and physical enrichment. Starting training early will help her grow into a confident, well-mannered adult. Because of her size and typical puppy mouthiness, a home with dog-savvy teens (around 14+) may be a good fit, while younger children are not recommended at this time. Story
Looking for a loving home for our 5 year-old dog who has high energy needs. He needs more time and training than we can dedicate due to having young children and other unexpected changes in our lives. He is sweet and loving and would love to live somewhere that he can hike, run and roam. He is tolerant of kids and very gentle but would probably prefer a home with older kids.

Story
Meet HIROMI HIROMI was turned into the shelter as a found dog. No one ever came for her. Despite being failed by her former person, this sweetheart remains devoted and loving. After Hiromi’s arrival she was initially timid and lacked confidence. She can still be somewhat apprehensive but she has opened up and trusted us enough to let her true colors shine! She is silly, sensitive, refreshingly affectionate, playful and a free spirit. Her absolute favorite past time is to be showered with love and give it in return. Her gentle, resilient nature is inspiring but not surprising. Hiromi is very communicative by expressing a multitude of emotions with her eyes. Her body language is inviting and she understands how to use it to subtly let you know what’s on her mind. She is also an Akita so stubbornness is part of her DNA! Her ideal adopter should have a calm home environment and be able to provide consistency and a daily routine, where she can continue to expand her horizons. Hiromi gets excited for her daily walks and is a great traveler! She seems non-reactive to other dogs and might do well with a mellow male dog. She is approx 4 yrs old and weighs 57 lbs. She is also crate and house trained. She is ready to pledge her love and devotion! Are you?! If you are interested in adopting, please complete our adoption application found on our website here: https://www.namasteakitarescue.com/how-do-i-adopt There you will find helpful information about the adoption process, FAQ's, etc **PLEASE NOTE, we must first approve an application before a meeting can be arranged between a prospective adopter and our dogs. Story
Meet Milo, the sweet, shy Husky Mix with the softest soul. Milo is a 1 y/o petite husky mix with a tender heart and a silly, quirky personality. He was recently rescued from a Los Angeles shelter and is quickly showing us just how special he is: gentle, sensitive, silly, and deeply LUVing once he feels safe. Most of Milo’s confidence comes from quiet moments, cozily curling up in his crate, melting into your hand for chin rubs, or tiptoeing over with those big curious ears when he wants to check in. He does everything softly. Soft glances. Soft movements. Soft kisses. He’s the kind of dog who blossoms through trust rather than bravado. But don’t let his shyness fool you, Milo has an adorable goofy side, too. Roll-over belly displays? Check. Upside down “look at me” poses in his crate? Double check. That happy, tongue-out smile in the yard? 100% Milo. And, how could we forget his happy back swimming anytime he’s on the grass. What Milo LUVs • His crate is his safe haven • Gentle affection, especially chin scratches • The outdoors: exploring, sniffing, and taking in the world at his own pace • Calm people (and dogs) who move slowly and speak kindly • Earning soft praise and building trust, step-by-step Milo would thrive with • A patient adopter who understands shy pups • A quiet or moderately calm home, he’s probably not a city dog • Someone who finds joy in small wins and “I trust you” moments • A backyard or safe outdoor space to explore (he LUVs nature time) • Possibly a friendly, calm/balanced dog furiend (not required, but helpful) Why Milo Is So Special He’s that once-in-a-lifetime kind of gentle LUV. The kind of dog who greets you with soft eyes. The kind of dog who stays close once he knows you’re his person. The kind of dog who transforms from shy to joyful right in front of you, and lets you witness every beautiful step. If you’re looking for a tender-hearted companion who will LUV you deeply, Milo is your boy. He’s ready for a furever home where he can feel safe, adored, and understood. Ready to fall in LUV? Milo is ready to start his new chapter. Could that chapter be with you? Fill out an application at muttluvrescue.org to start the beginning of your beautiful story with Milo! All Mutt Luv Rescue pups receive a full health checkup, heartworm and parasite testing, are fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before adoption.
