Story
Mara is half Akita half husky. We got her from a rescue in Riverside, CA when she was about 2 years old. We don't know for sure, but we believe her birthday is sometime in March. She's about 4 1/2 years old now. She is a very loving and cuddly dog who loves being around people, great with kids and loves to snuggle close to her people. She's a very calm and mild energy dog and loves to go for walks in the morning and evening and loves to stick her head out the window on car rides. She does have a very strong prey drive and can not be around other animals and is kept on leash at all times while out in public. She has attacked and killed smaller animals and is the reason why we have to put her up for adoption. Despite her prey drive, she's an absolutely wonderful dog and is very soft, fluffy, gentle and loyal. Her new home has to have no other pets. Preferrably, she has some room to run around and play. Becuase of her history, an experienced dog owner is recommended.

Hi! My name is Luna I'm at the Santa Barbara Campus. I am a 3 year old female Akita mix who is ready for my forever home. I appear to be house trained and think that I am a lap dog. I may be a little nervous at first because I had a family for the last 3 years and this is all new to me. I do come out of my shell very quickly and am a lot of fun. Interested in meeting me? Adoption Centers are open daily 12-4:30pm, closed Wednesdays. Adoptions are on a first-come first served basis. For more information please email Adopt@SBHumane.org or call 805-964-4777. When I am adopted, I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adopters will receive a certificate for a free veterinary exam and our partners at Purina will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home.

Do you find vacuuminf therapeutic, especially when supervised by 2 fluff balls that will look at you adoringly? Well, if you do and are looking for two chill gals, Maya and Kurky would like to meet you. These fluffy and lovely ladies are on the lookout for their forever home and hoping it will be yours. Maya is the social butterfly and will come right up to new people and accept their affection right away. Kurky will stand back, judge you, make notes and analyze if you are worth her coming over to you. Don't worry - it only takes a minute or 2 for her to complete her analysis and then you are good. These ladies are not your typical huskies. They are not jumpers, not big singers either. They like to lounge with their person on the couch, maybe putter around in the yard with them and just do a whole lot of nothing. A casual stroll here and there is good, but they are not looking for a super active life. Surprised? Yeah, we were too. They are the easiest huskies we have met. If you know huskies, the one thing that won't surprise you is that they are not a match for cats. Way too much fun to chase them and it is probably one of the few things that will get them off the couch in a flash. That and their food being served. So, if you are looking for easy girls to hang with you let us know.

Hi I am Nui ! I am a friendly and beautiful pup. I have a soft pure white coat and golden brown eyes. I was originally surrendered from a breeder because I was too small. I love to play at the dog park and would do well with other dogs in the house. I should not be in a home with cats and I might be too playful for smaller children because I am young. I am a sweet girl. I do well in outdoor cafes and will lay down with some coaxing while you eat your meal. I get attached to my humans quickly and I am a great buddy. I need someone to spend time with me . I will be spayed after October 3rd .The commands I know are sit , stay, down, leave it and off . I even know a few commands in Spanish . If you know huskies exercise is a must I love a brisk walk and I have almost perfected running next to a bike. But go slow and be cautious if you try to exercise me this way for the first time. I have so much to offer and I am ready to be part of your Family!💜
