Story
This pup is nothing short of amazing and has the best parts of a shepherd and an Akita. He wants to be part of the family and he will protect them until the bitter end. Kai wants a family so bad and has a strong love for the people who take care of him. Once he has settled in, Kai's happiness fills the home with joy. When you come home from a long day at work, Kai is there to greet you and wants nothing more than to listen and smell all about your day. This young loving amazing Shepherd gives unconditional love, and only wants to please you and take every command. He can be a little timid, but once he learns your love, he is extremely obedient and loving. Once you earn his love, that’s all you’re gonna get from him. He is a good boy who has been through some tough times who just wants a family all to his own. Kai currently lives with other dogs and does well with most of them. There are more assertive dogs that Kai is not a fan of. Kai is not recommended to live with cats due to prey drive. Kai has met children and done well with them with proper introductions, but would likely do best with older children only given his timid nature when first meeting new people. Kai would do best in a home that is experienced with Akitas, Shepherds, or a similar breed. Kai is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption. If you would like to meet Kai to see if he is a good fit for your family, please fill out our short adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Upon receipt of your application, one of our passionate volunteers will call you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet.

Story
🐾 I’m Klaus, the Doggo of Your Dreams! 🐾 Blending in??? Pfffffft!!! I’m all about standing out! 🐶 Hello! I’m a regal, energetic, and effortlessly charming Akita and Pit Bull mix boy. At about 3 years old and 64 lbs., I’m the perfect blend of charisma, strength and dashing good looks. 🙂 When we meet, you’ll be struck by my movie-star good looks — you may even hear a background soundtrack as I walk up to you in slow motion on my “white socks paws” — like the leading man in a blockbuster. And when I get closer, prepare to be completely captivated by my hypnotic, aqua-blue eyes. They pop so stunningly against my dark coat; they’ll make even Henry Cavill’s eyes pale in comparison. 😂 What really sets me apart, though, is my irresistible personality. Don’t be fooled by these strong muscles and toned physique—underneath it all, I’m a total softie. Just ask my volunteer friends—they’ll tell you how much I love snuggling up with them and giving them kisses, while getting my daily dose of chin and head scratches. 🙂 I’m a huge fan of on-leash sniffaris—nothing beats a good walkie where I can read pee-mails on every blade of grass! My volunteer buddies say I’m an excellent walking companion. I also love playing with toys and chasing tennis balls—rain or shine, I’m always ready for some goofy outdoor adventures! And did I mention I’m pretty darn smart? I snap to attention when asked to “Sit” or lie “Down”, especially when I hear that treat bag crinkle. 😂 I’m also super patient and will “Wait” for my treats—no jumping on you or grabbing at the snacks! As for doggo friendships… well, I’ll be honest…I can be a bit picky. Some doggos I vibe with, others... not so much. If you have a fur baby at home, please bring them along for a supervised, on-leash meet-and-greet to see if we’re a good match. 🐶🐶 So, what are you waiting for? Let’s hang out together and get to know each other. I’m already vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped — ready to head home with you whenever you are! 🏠🚗 ## See video of Klaus at the end of the photo gallery! ## TVAR.org/find-your-pet-adopt/dogs-puppies/ Klaus’ Shelter ID# is 85000. He is a an approximately 3-year-old, black and white, Akita/Pit Bull mix. He weighs 64 lbs. He has already been vaccinated, neutered and microchipped and is ready to go to his new home! Story
Meet HIROMI HIROMI was turned into the shelter as a found dog. No one ever came for her. Despite being failed by her former person, this sweetheart remains devoted and loving. After Hiromi’s arrival she was initially timid and lacked confidence. She can still be somewhat apprehensive but she has opened up and trusted us enough to let her true colors shine! She is silly, sensitive, refreshingly affectionate, playful and a free spirit. Her absolute favorite past time is to be showered with love and give it in return. Her gentle, resilient nature is inspiring but not surprising. Hiromi is very communicative by expressing a multitude of emotions with her eyes. Her body language is inviting and she understands how to use it to subtly let you know what’s on her mind. She is also an Akita so stubbornness is part of her DNA! Her ideal adopter should have a calm home environment and be able to provide consistency and a daily routine, where she can continue to expand her horizons. Hiromi gets excited for her daily walks and is a great traveler! She seems non-reactive to other dogs and might do well with a mellow male dog. She is approx 4 yrs old and weighs 57 lbs. She is also crate and house trained. She is ready to pledge her love and devotion! Are you?! If you are interested in adopting, please complete our adoption application found on our website here: https://www.namasteakitarescue.com/how-do-i-adopt There you will find helpful information about the adoption process, FAQ's, etc **PLEASE NOTE, we must first approve an application before a meeting can be arranged between a prospective adopter and our dogs. Story
Harry" is a handsome Long-haired male Husky, 1-2 years old. 2 light blue eyes. Harry and Hank were found after being abandoned by their owner who left country. Harry is Good with people and other dogs, children unknown. Harry is not good with cats. He is not yet house-trained, and currently prefers to be outside. He Loves playing and sleeping. Very calm demeanor. Highly trainable. Harry can be food possessive, so needs to be fed separately and no free feeding. We Prefer that he be adopted with his brother, "Hank". Harry will be scheduled to be neutered and is current on his vaccinations and has been micro-chipped. Huskies need a secure yard and a family that will provide love, attention and exercise. Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link.
