Story
Mara is half Akita half husky. We got her from a rescue in Riverside, CA when she was about 2 years old. We don't know for sure, but we believe her birthday is sometime in March. She's about 4 1/2 years old now. She is a very loving and cuddly dog who loves being around people, great with kids and loves to snuggle close to her people. She's a very calm and mild energy dog and loves to go for walks in the morning and evening and loves to stick her head out the window on car rides. She does have a very strong prey drive and can not be around other animals and is kept on leash at all times while out in public. Despite her prey drive, she's an absolutely wonderful dog and is very soft, fluffy, gentle and loyal. Her new home has to have no other pets. Preferrably, she has some room to run around and play. Becuase of her prey drive, an experienced dog owner is recommended.

Hi, my name is Gumbo and I'm at the Santa Barbara Campus. I'm a 3 year old, male, Siberian Husky who is excited for a new home. I love to be the center of attention and being pet and loved on. I walk nicely on leash, am able to make friends with other dogs. I am a Husky so that does mean I need entertainment and I may sing you the song of my people....if you are lucky. I hope to find someone who wants to love me, take me on walks and spend time cuddling on the couch. Interested in meeting me? Please stop by during open hours: daily 12:00pm-4:30pm, closed Wednesdays. For more information on our adoption program, please email Adopt@SBHumane.org or call 805-964-4777. Animals adopted from Santa Barbara Humane have been spayed/neutered, are current on vaccinations, and are microchipped. Adoptions include a complimentary health exam from a participating veterinarian, a starter bag of Purina food, and discounted dog training class fees. All the supplies you need are available at SBH Retail Centers and sales help support our programs.
