Petey is a fun-loving boy who is great with every person he has met, young and old. He might be okay around other dogs, but he's selective. He walks well on leash, until he sees a rabbit, squirrel or cat, but he would easily adjust to a no-pull harness. He loves to get belly rubs!

Nala is a purebred akita. She has been rehomed now 4 times now so i’m trying to find her a forever home. She’s very sweet and has tons of energy. Would prefer her to move into a home with a backyard, but has been an apartment dog so if needed. She may do better either being an only dog or in a home with a younger dog than her. She comes with a crate, her bowl, some toys, and her leash.

Ellie is an amazing dog. She is kind with people and the sweetest cuddle bug. She is a good listener and really could thrive in the right environment. She does not get along well with new dogs and should be the only dog in a household. She really would do well in the right home environment with an experienced dog trainer/person who knows the female Akita breed and can take time to make her feel loved and safe. She will always have your back and once she knows you then you are part of her family.

Story
Dorian is looking for his forever home!! Dorian was pulled from the shelter after spending 680 long days - nearly 2 years in LAs shelter system. Despite spending 2 years in an outdoor concrete kennel, with minimal human interaction, he held on to hope and has been the most resilient boy. Most dogs don’t last that long in high kill shelters, but Dorian was a staff favorite. He did well with volunteers who brought him out for play groups and they advocated for him to keep him alive. But still somehow no one wanted to adopt him. We saw a post about him and immediately knew we had to get this boy of that environment and into a foster home. Since then we have all fallen in love! We now understand why he was a staff favorite. He's the silliest Akita Inu mix, and he's as loyal and loving as they come. He is extremely handsome and the sweetest, most easy going guy. Dorian is crate trained, potty trained, and knows several commands. He can be nervous around strangers, but once he knows you, he loves you for life! Dorian is dog friendly, and he is an absolute goofball when he plays. Dorian loves to go for walks (cue the happy hops) and crash for a nap next to his person. He would be fantastic with a person with Akita experience or someone who understands/has researched the breed. Dorian is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and currently on flea tick and heartworm medication. Overall. he's in good health, and we believe he is around 6-7 years old and weighs 80 lbs. We recently did his DNA test with Embark, and he is an Akita Inu, American Akita, Pittie mix. He is a good boy and loves attention. He would be good with another dog that is his size or as a single dog in a home with happy humans. He loves to play, chase balls, go on walks and swim. He also isn’t a big barker, he’s pretty quiet and will lounge around during quiet times. We recently found out that our Daughter with Down syndrome is allergic to dog hair. He is house broken, kennel trained and not food aggressive at all, when fed he will wait until told to “eat” or “take it”. He’s been to PetSmart 3series training and did great. He does great at the dog park with other dogs. If you’re interested, you can meet him at a dog park. We can arrange a time. We could meet. Text me at 619-787-4489 if you’d like to meet him.

Why this pet is the one for you:Jaku is a special dog with a reserved demeanor at first, but with time, he's shown social and affectionate behaviors towards shelter staff. He's had negative experiences with other dogs in the past, so a home with no dogs or one where interactions can be carefully managed is strongly recommended. While he has no known history with cats or kids, a home with respectful children who understand dog body language and interactions would be best.
