Kazhem is a very handsome, somewhat shy Akita mix who warms up slowly to new people. But once he is comfortable he will share his goofy personality with you, running zoomies in the grass and showing off his great smile and happy tail wag.He gets along great with other dogs on the beach, the trails and probably in the dog park, but would prefer to be the only doggo in his forever home. Once Kazhem bonds with you he`s very devoted and wants to be with you all the time. Retirees, professionals who work at home, and anyone else who could make him a part of their daily life would be his dream family!

Hiromi was turned into the shelter as a found dog. No one ever came for her. Despite being failed by her former person, this sweetheart remains devoted and loving. After Hiromi’s arrival she was initially timid and lacked confidence. She can still be somewhat apprehensive but in less than 10 days, she has opened up and trusted us enough to let her true colors shine! She is silly, sensitive, refreshingly affectionate, playful and a free spirit. Her absolute favorite past time is to be showered with love and give it in return. Her gentle, resilient nature is inspiring but not surprising. Hiromi is very communicative by expressing a multitude of emotions with her eyes. Her body language is inviting and she understands how to use it to subtly let you know what’s on her mind. She is also an Akita so stubbornness is part of her DNA! Her ideal adopter should have a calm home environment and be able to provide consistency and a daily routine, where she can continue to expand her horizons. Hiromi gets excited for her daily walks and is a great traveler! She greets people with ease as long as they approach with the same calm energy that she emits. She seems non-reactive to other dogs and might do well with a mellow male dog. This gorgeous girl is approximately 4-years old and weighs 57 pounds. She is also crate and house trained. We don't know much about Tobi's past, but his future is bright. He is a big boy with a heart the size to match. He is a gentle giant with a gregarious, carefree attitude and is eager to learn and experience the world. He is game for adventure and deserves to have that special someone to accompany him in life. Tobi is playful and has a welcoming aura about him. He also has an unabashed, confident side to him. He's just not sure how he ended up here, and we're making sure he never has to wonder that ever again. He is best as an only dog and someone with previous Akita experience is best. Tobi is approximately 5 yrs old, and due to his size should be on a good quality joint supplement. Kanoa is simply a great dog! He’s a 1.5-year old, friendly, playful, and very energetic young Akita. He likes people and appears friendly toward dogs when passing them on leash. He also walks very politely on leash and likely wouldn’t mind running, too, if his human companion was so inclined. Everything about Kanoa suggests that he has lived in a home before and will make his lucky new family very happy. Xavier is a striking Husky mix with a beautiful coat and vibrant personality. This lovable boy is a volunteer favorite, and it’s easy to see why. Xavier is incredibly friendly with people and is always eager to make new human friends. He thrives in an environment where he can get lots of attention and exercise, so an active household would be perfect for him. When it comes to outings, Xavier is a dream on a leash. He walks beautifully, stays focused, and is easy to handle, making him a joy on walks, runs, or hikes and he seems to be housetrained, making him a well-behaved companion indoors as well! A fenced yard would be ideal for him to burn off his energy, but he also enjoys a good mental challenge, so puzzle toys or interactive games are a great way to keep him entertained. He’s not a fan of other dogs encroaching on his space and would do best in a setting where he can have all the attention to himself, so a home without other dogs would make him the happiest. Say hello to Starburst. She is a lovely young pup who is just learning about life. She appears not to have been exposed to much before now, and so she is a little shy to warm up at first. She wasn’t familiar with stairs or an elevator before, but she’s getting the hang of these new experiences. Starburst is very cuddly with humans once she’s comfortable, and loves petting and brushing. She is soaking up all of the attention she can get. Starburst walks nicely on leash, politely passes other dogs, and will enjoy an owner who helps build her confidence with praise and positivity. We know she will blossom with consistency and love.

This is Loki, a friendly and affectionate husky who is a bit confused as to why he’s in the shelter. He seems to be sad and still hoping his previous owner is coming to pick him up. Loki is a sensitive boy who will need a little coaxing to come out of shell. On his wish list is a home with a secure yard and a new buddy who is willing to go at his pace. Loki walks very nicely on leash (once you can encourage him with pets to go a little further) and is very polite meeting other dogs. He might do well in a home with another secure dog who could show him the ropes – he would need a proper introduction to make sure. Loki is still very young and energetic, but a bit uncertain. He would love a home soon where he can feel secure and blossom.
