Story
Meet Meimei (aka Mochi)!  Mochi is a 4 year old purebred Akita who's looking for her forever home in Vancouver.  She came from a family who originally got her for her "designer breed" status but are no longer able to take care of her.  Now that she is in foster care, we're learning just how special she is. Mochi is fully house trained, loves car rides and even knows a couple of tricks (sit, shake paw).  She grew up in a condo and perfectly content with apartment living, especially since she's a pretty low energy dog for her size.  She's one of those dogs who enjoys bursts of play, she loves to chase a ball, but for the most part, she's happiest lounging around the house, soaking up belly or just hanging out with her person.  At only 19kg, she's quite small for an Akita, which makes her even more of a little bean. One of the sweetest things about Mochi is how affectionate she is.  While Akitas tend to be quite independent, she genuinely enjoys human company and has no problem showing it.  That being said, she still has that Akita stubborn streak and makes her own decisions about things.  She's a quiet dog, she never barks and she's curious about the world.  Because her previous family didn't take her out much, she's still figuring out the joys of long walks, adventures and just being a dog. One important thing to know about Mochi is that she prefers to be the only dog in the household.  She wasn't properly socialized as a puppy, so she can be reactive when first meeting other dogs.  However, if she's on a hike with a group, she figures out how to co-exist and do her own things.  Like many Akitas, she thrives when she has a person she can bond with, someone who understands her independent nature but is also willing to give her the love she deserves. Mochi is looking for a home where she can be someone's one and only, where she'll be loved for the smart, quirky, and affectionate dog that she is.  If you're looking for a medium-large dog that's low maintenance, quiet, and fiercely loyal, she might be your perfect match. If you think Mochi could be the one for you please send us an application and let us know about yourself!

✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 Meet Joy🩷 Joy is the sweetest pup! She is gentle and adorable and steals everyone’s heart. * Toward People: Loves everyone regardless of age or gender! Is a charming sweetheart who wags her tail to greet even strangers. Keeps porking her head in to be petted because she loves to be caressed. Is so gentle that she gets startled and immediately takes a hand out that accidentally ends up in her mouth when she is playing. * Toward Dogs: Gets along well with her best friend Mansoo #AdogsMansoo, with whom she shares kennel. Greets other dogs nicely whom she encounters while out for walks. However, because she tends to play a bit rough, it is important to keep an eye on her when she meets other dogs in an off-leash area. * Separation Anxiety: Is unknown since she is staying in group at the Adogs Center. * Potty Training: Uses outdoor potty in the Cener. *Hygiene: Behaves well during baths. * Walks: Is adept at walking side by side with a walker, without pulling on the leash. 💗 * Car sickness: None. 💌Special Note💌 * Mastered commands like "sit" and "shake hands"!

Story
Kazuki is an adorable Husky X Akita mix. She is a lively, energetic, very friendly and happy girl. Kazuki will need to go to an experienced adopter who knows how to train dogs with confidence by way of positive reinforcement. Kazuki needs some work on her manners but she is a fast learner and loves to work for treats! She seems to like most other dogs and can live with another well matched dog with proper introductions. Due to her exuberance and lack of basic training, she is not suitable for young children. Older teenagers could be okay for her. She would love to find a home who will exercise her mind and body often and will give her the same amount of love and kisses that she will give them!! At City of Vancouver Animal Services, we have a foster-to-adopt program whereby prospective new owners foster the adoptable animal for 21 days before committing to adoption. This ensures that both the new owner and the adoptable animal are well suited to each other. Adoption Fee $374 Includes: -Spay/Neuter -First set of shots -One vet visit -Microchip -Bag of food If you live in Vancouver, you will also need to buy a dog license.

These pups are in Aldergrove, British Columbia too!

Story
Hello, Vancouver!  My name is Shilar (aka Sunny, aka Shade) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Malamute / Husky mixAge: 3 years (born 08/13/21)Gender: MaleWeight: 62 lbsHeight tbdHighlights: Gentle, intelligent, cuddly, loyal.  Loves attention from all humans and wants to meet all the dogs! I am so excited to be here in Canada!  I arrived in Vancouver from Lebanon in the fall of 2024 and have been having an amazing time living with my foster family.  I've had the pleasure of exploring parks, making other canine buddies, and discovering the joys of toys & cozy cuddles on couches and in bed.  This has been the ultimate upgrade from my previous life on the streets and shelters in Lebanon.  I was originally named Shade because of my dark fur, my foster Mom renamed me Sunny for my happy smile and zest for life.  Shilar is another one of my nicknames, which holds the connotations of peaceful and calm-- I'm a big cuddle buddy, but my zoomies come out when I'm truly at ease and happy!  I am pretty adaptable, so whether you choose to name me Shilar, Shade, Sunny, or something new, I will greet you with my winning smile and endless affection! Sunny was rescued from one of the most dangerous areas in Lebanon, where he faced unthinkable challenges. Local kids threw rocks at him, and residents scared him away with gunfire when he sought safety near their homes. Alone and scared, he was discovered hiding under a car, separated from his littermates and mother. Rescuers brought Sunny to a foster home in Lebanon, where he received care, safety, and the chance to trust humans again. He also began to socialize with other dogs, showing his gentle and playful side. When Sunny arrived in Vancouver, he received a 5-star grooming session that revealed an untreated puncture wound. Thanks to prompt vet care, he healed quickly and emerged as the happy, loving dog he is today. Sunny is a delightful mix of calm and playful. He’s a big fan of cuddles, but when he’s truly at ease, his zoomies come out, showcasing his joyful spirit! He’s curious about squirrels and birds but mostly watches them disappear into the trees and sky. Sunny loves walks, running off-leash in fenced areas, and learning new things. Smart and eager to please, he’s ready to soak up all the love and knowledge his future family can share. Sunny’s Ideal HomeSunny would thrive in a home with a yard where he can run and explore. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, both big and small, and loves making new friends. If another dog doesn’t share his enthusiasm, he doesn’t quite understand but remains kindhearted. He’s excellent at sharing his toys and food, making him a great candidate for a multi-dog household. If Sunny were an only dog, he’d be just as happy as long as he gets plenty of love, walks, and opportunities to socialize with other dogs.  From his rough beginnings to his current happy-go-lucky demeanor, Sunny is a true survivor with a heart full of love. He’s looking for a family who will cherish his gentle, playful nature and provide the forever home he deserves.  If you’re ready to meet your new best friend, come meet Sunny and let his smile brighten your world! Energy level: ModerateI get along with:Dogs: YesCats: Unknown (shows little prey drive when he sees them during walks)Kids: Yes Fears: Sometimes loud noises can spook himTraining: Knows how to sit, lay down, give a paw on command.  Understands "leave it" or "drop it".  Responds well to name "Sunny".  Recall command is a work in progress.  Please be prepared to continue training. Leash skills: Leashes are new to him since fall 2024 and he's learning manners.  A front clip harness minimizes pulling.  Sometimes gets "zoomies" on walks when excited and jumps around.  Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes.  New environments can be stressful, please be prepared to monitor and continue training. I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##1795706##

Story
Hi there! My name is Bryce, and I have quite the story to tell.   Breed: Alaskan MalamuteAge: 4 yearsGender: Male    Weight: 73 lbHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, rarely barks, no escape tendency I was found wondering the streets and ended up in a city pound as a stray. Despite having a microchip, no one came to claim me, and I was at risk of being euthanized. Thankfully, I was saved and brought to a shelter, but unfortunately, I've been there for over a year without finding a family to call my own. Living in Korea's hot and humid summers hasn't been easy for me as a Malamute. I'm really hoping to find a home where I can be comfortable and happy. I'm not shy at all when it comes to meeting new people. In fact, I love it when strangers pet me and give me belly rubs. I'm a big fan of scratches and don't mind being brushed. Just be prepared for some shedding! I get along well with other dogs, regardless of their size. I've been living with 30-40 dogs at the shelter, so I'm used to being around many furry friends. However, I haven't had the chance to meet a cat yet, so I'm not sure how I would react. I have a moderate energy level and enjoy outdoor activities. I walk well on a leash and am confident in urban environments. Sudden noises and car rides don't scare me at all. In fact, I absolutely love car rides and enjoy looking out the window, feeling the wind on my face. I want to assure you that I haven't shown any signs of aggression. However, I do have a little possessive behavior when it comes to certain things. Sometimes, I won't let go of something I have in my mouth. But don't worry, the shelter is working on this with me, and it's recommended to continue "leave it" training after adoption. I don't have separation anxiety and rarely bark. You won't have to worry about me trying to escape either. I am crate-trained, but I haven't been housetrained yet since I haven't had the chance to live in a home. With a little patience and guidance, I'm sure I'll catch on quickly. I'm just a lovable Malamute looking for a family to call my own. If you're ready to give me the love and care I deserve, please consider adopting me. I promise to be a loyal and affectionate companion for life. Story
Hi all, my name is Silas. I am a very loving four year old, male, husky mix who needs a new home. My family adores me, but I am not doing well with the new toddler in my family. Loud noises and fast movements are upsetting for me. So my family is making the painful decision to find me a child free home.  I am very good with other dogs and I adore cats. I would LOVE to share my new home with one of those fascinating creatures. Once I am comfortable with you I am very cuddly. I love to get belly rubs and to snuggle. You will love how well behaved I am. I am great on the leash, and have no food or toy aggression.  If you are looking for a dog to play and snuggle with who will keep you smiling, I am your boy. I am neutered and vaccinated.
