Story
Gloria (and her sisters) were found as puppies by our volunteers as strays back in 2023. Gloria was returned recently when her family could no longer care for her. She's approximately 1-1/2 years old and she's a big girl! Her dad was an Akita blend. She's currently about 70 pounds and she's a strong girl! She is house, dog door, and kennel trained. She's a very friendly, high energy girl, who LOVES people! She enjoys daily walks, and needs a home that will help her perfect her leash manners. Gloria is living in one of our foster homes and will be at the adoption center from 10am-4pm on Saturdays, while she's looking for her forever home.No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Pros : Kai is a very loving sweet dog to humans. She loves to run jump and fetch. She loves her toys. She is kennel trained as well as potty trained. She sits stays and gives paw. Loves getting loved on and 1 on 1 attention. Kai is good on a leash. Kai is AKC registered. Kai is microchipped. Cons: Kai needs to be the only dog or get extensive training on being around other dogs. Kai has never been around children. And honestly im not sure if bringing her into a home with children at first is a good idea as she likes being the alpha.

Story
Hello! My name is Oso, which means “bear” in Spanish—but don’t let the name fool you! I’m a gentle giant with a heart full of love. I was saved just three hours before my time was up at the county shelter, and even though I’m a senior, I have so much life and love left to give! I’m all about people—I love them, like really, really love them. After spending my whole life outdoors, I’m absolutely thrilled by the comfort of indoor air conditioning and a doggy door that lets me wander into the yard whenever I want. Life is good! One of my favorite things is carrying around my stuffed toys, especially the small ones—they make me so happy! I also love chasing a ball and am the best boy when it’s time for a bath. Treats are my weakness, especially chicken tacos (yum!). I’m looking for a home where I can be the only dog because I just want to soak up all the love for myself. I’m easygoing, never bark, and my tail wiggles with joy when I meet new friends. I’m dreaming of a forever home where I can give lots of kisses, enjoy scratchies, and just be your loyal companion for the rest of my days. If you can offer me a place to call home, please reach out to my foster mom, Jenn, at 602-710-4143. I can’t wait to meet you! ❤️ I’m a courtesy post for Valley Dogs Rescue.

Story
Please note this dog is NOT an official Underdog dog, and you will be connected with the person who has the dog. Please Contact Kylie, 847-854-9920, kcfletcher93@gmail.com:   MEET DUKE #16!! Duke is a happy, loving boy who only want love, snuggles and play time. He is wonderful with children, but he has not had many interactions with other animals, so that is an unknown. Duke is a young, high-energy boy. He needs an active person to give him lots of walks, runs and play time. He is house trained, crate trained, uses a doggy door and walks good on a leash.  Duke has been around other dogs, but would do best as only dog or with dog savvy parents with experience to make sure the right match.  Duke is looking for a new home at no fault of his own. His current is unable to meet his needs and energy level. Are you looking for a big, busy lovebug? Meet Duke today! If you are interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website for our online application www.underdogaz.com  PLEASE NOTE: This dog is courtesy posted for another individual or Rescue. Different policies and fees may apply. November 5, 2024, 10:01 pm

Story
I first met Roku in Dallas, Texas. He is a pure breed of Japanese Akita Inu. He was only three-month-old and just a little tiny pup. His birthday is Aug. 22, 2022. He is shy and sensitive but always super sweet and kind to me. Now he is about nine months old, and he never barked at me even once, never ran away once when I recall him. But when he is with me, when he's growing up now, I finally realize that maybe i am not the best owner for him, he deserves a better home and a happy doggy life with someone who can really spend a lot of time with him. There are some changes happening in my life and I will travel more frequently in the near future. It's really hard to make the decision but I hope the best for him and that he can be truly happy. The adoption fee there is setting a bar for selecting people who is financially stable and is serious about giving him a new home. But it's always negotiable, just reach out to me if you are an experienced dog owner. Thanks.
