Story
Sox (A140720) is a 6-year-old AK Husky x GSD mix who weighed 52.2 pounds on intake! 12/29/25 This fun-loving team was surrendered to the shelter and is looking for homes that can keep them active and running! Sox loves to run and can be a little nibbly out of excitement when he sees the harness come out! These boys are brothers and were stated to be AK Husky and German Shepherd mixes with a smidge of pitty mixed in. They are used to living outdoors on dog houses but have been enjoying the warmth of our inside kennels during this cold snap! They were said to love curling up in their straw when outdoors and coming inside to cozy up next to the fireplace. When they can not get out for a run on the sled, they were said to love playing with each other in a fenced-in yard or going on long walks through the woods! They would love to join someoneâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s rec team or a home that can keep them active and stimulated! If you are interested in meeting Mokey or any of his brothers/teammates, please let us know! March 7, 2026, 4:08 pm

Story
Chewy (A141750) is a 5-year-old AK Husky who weighed 53 pounds on intake! 04/16/26 This lover boy is Chewy! Chewy was surrendered to the shelter with his friend Tequila! These kiddos have been living the outdoor sled dog life. They are used to living on a doghouse, so if you plan on transitioning them indoors, keep in mind they will need help with all the basics. However, they may be keen to learn! They have previously run a dog team, but their surrendering owner felt they may enjoy being on a smaller rec team or even becoming your skijor buddy. They are an active breed, so they will need continued mental and physical stimulation. Both Tequila and Chewy were said to do well with children, strangers, and adults. They also have historically done well with other dogs and livestock. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new people and other animals. If you are interested in meeting Chewy, please let us know! May 14, 2026, 9:28 pm

Story
Toph (A141749) is an 8-year-old AK Husky who weighed 48.4 pounds on intake! 04/16/26 This photogenic gal is Toph! Toph was surrendered to the shelter because she was retiring from running and looking to transition to more of an indoor lifestyle. However, Toph still has a lot of energy and would love to get out and run on a rec team, or possibly take up skijoring, in her senior years. She was said to get overenthusiastic when geared up to go on a run, which has led her to be a bit nippy in the past. She may do best in a home without young children, given her prior behavior. Toph was also noted to do well with male dogs but can be selective when it comes to other female dogs. She has no know experience with cat or pocket pets. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with new animals. Toph has spent time living indoors, is kennel-trained and housebroken, and rides well in a vehicle. It was stated that she can jump fences if given the chance and left unsupervised. She should always be on a leash, secure tie-out, or supervised while in a fenced-in yard. If you are interested in meeting Toph, please let us know! May 14, 2026, 9:28 pm
