Story
Apollo (A131535) is a 3-year-old AK Husky who weighed 58.7 pounds on intake! 12/03/24 This handsome boy is Apollo! Apollo is back at the shelter because he was having jealousy issues with the child in the home, which resulted in him chewing on that childâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s items (clothing, sippy cup, etc.). He was said to do great with children but might do best in a home with older children. Apollo was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and to ride well in a car. He also knows a few commands like sit and paw! However, his prior owner did state that he doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t always mind the best and we still encourage his next owner to bring him to a basic obedience class with a certified trainer. He still has no experience with cats, pocket pets, or livestock but was said to do well with other dogs. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions to set him up for success! Apollo does have some naughty habits like getting into the trash, chewing, and digging. He is looking for a home that can keep him both mentally and physically stimulated and out of trouble! If you are interested in meeting Apollo, please let us know! 06/16/23 Athena and Apollo were surrendered to the shelter together and are hoping to find their new perfect homes! We are not requiring that these two be adopted together but they do get along if you are looking for a pair! Both Apollo and Athena were said to be kennel trained and housebroken! Apollo was said to be kenneled when left alone whereas Athena could be left unsupervised in the home. These two were described as outgoing and friendly and sweet with everybody they meet including kiddos! They were also said to do well with other dogs but have no history with cats, pocket pets, or livestock. Please ensure you are doing slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new critters! Apollo was known to jump shorter fences so should always be supervised when outside. Both Apollo and Athena were said to know a few basic commands but would still benefit from attending a basic obedience class. If you are interested in meeting either of these pups please let us know!December 3, 2024, 10:42 pm

Story
Delta (A137038) is an 3-year-old Alaskan husky who weighed almost 50 lbs at intake!12/28/24 This ragtag little team of huskies was brought to the shelter because their previous musher did not feel they had the endurance for the longer races they wanted to do. Jim Jim, Charlie, Alphie, Delta, Zulu, Oscar and Whiskey have only ever lived as outside dogs, so it may take them a little time to adjust to indoor life, including potty training. All seven of these dogs were a little uncomfortable walking on tile floor when they arrived at the shelter, so they are also hoping their next homes will be patient in helping them learn the ropes of indoor life. Although they were booted from their last team, they still have a lot of energy and may just need a recreational musher or one who does shorter races. Jim Jim was said to have been a great leader in the past. If you are interested in meeting any of these happy sled dogs, please give the shelter a call!January 7, 2025, 1:03 pm
