Story
Charlie is a sweet Akbash/Pyr mix, who is protective of his person, and has the typical Pyr attitude. He is fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped. He is approximately 3-4 years old and weighs 102 pounds. Charlie does well with the smaller dogs in the current foster home, though would probably do best as an only dog. Charley very much enjoys "working"...having something to do. Though we do not allow him to be an outdoor dog, he very much enjoys his time in the yard/sun. He loves going for walks, but is often scared of other unknown big dogs. Charlie is great with the cats in the current foster home, and absolutely LOVES men!!! Story
Meet Princess Peach. She was surrendered to TGPR by her owner. She could not get along with the neighbors chickens. Now she's with TGPR, up to date on her vaccines and spayed. She is an energetic silly girl who loves to play ball. She loves her toys and chew bones like most good puppies, Peach is kennel trained, potty trained, definitely loves car rides with her people. She is a curious puppy who likes to explore her outside world listening for crickets and bugs, so sometimes she needs a reminder to make her business outside. She is cat friendly and would love a home with a cat sibling. She is your no fuss, no hassle ready to go pup. She is mixed GP with a shorter coat and is looking for her family to call her own. Story
His foster named hm Jelly Roll for the same reason some giants are named Tiny- you cannot believe how skinny this poor, sweet guy is. But if you know us, he'll be back in shape in no time and living up to his name! I know we're a Pyr rescue, but I can never say no to a big, long-legged, awkward, goofball of an Akbash. The big galoot! He is absolutely the sweetest dog in the universe.

Story
Casper was found on the side of the road and taken home by a kind finder who cared for him, neutered and vaccinated and got him on heart worm prevention. He's likely mixed with Akbash another wonderful livestock guardian breeds. He's been cared for but still needs house manners and leash training but will go to his crate on demand and comes when called for. He's wonderful with kids of all ages and other dogs, not yet tested with cats. With some structure, this dog could be your bestest boy with all the great characteristics of the breed, calm, friendly, watchful, loyal, well balanced. If you're looking for a sweet, mature 3 year old, he can be your guy! More photos coming soon!

Story
Ralphie is fostered in the DFW area and is developing into a happy pup, I mean, look at that smile. He loves playing and learning from his foster siblings. As a young pup, he was found scavenging for food with his head stuck in a cereal box. His malnourishment contributed to a condition called rickets in his back legs. The vet assured us that this condition improves with good nutrition and exercise. Apply today to meet Ralphie TGPR.org

Story
Bernie has been with us since he was rescued as a small puppy roughly two years ago. He loves to play with our other small terrier mix, and he does very well on walks and when we take him to the dog park. We have three kids in our home, and he has done well around them and other people. He does require a strong owner who knows how to handle large dogs, and he will need to be reinforced to be gentle when he is fed sometimes. We must let Bernie go because I have generalized anxiety, and his demeanor is not conducive to my condition. I also work from home, and Bernie barks any time the door is rung or he senses someone approaching. He is very stubborn, and getting him to calm down can be challenging. Bernie loves to be with or near his family. He LOVES to get on the couch and in bed with us. This can be challenging with his size His best home would be somewhere that he can bark and play more outside, and where his owner can handle or appreciate his alertness.
