Story
His foster named hm Jelly Roll for the same reason some giants are named Tiny- you cannot believe how skinny this poor, sweet guy is. But if you know us, he'll be back in shape in no time and living up to his name! I know we're a Pyr rescue, but I can never say no to a big, long-legged, awkward, goofball of an Akbash. The big galoot! He is absolutely the sweetest dog in the universe.

Story
Casper was found on the side of the road and taken home by a kind finder who cared for him, neutered and vaccinated and got him on heart worm prevention. He's likely mixed with Akbash another wonderful livestock guardian breeds. He's been cared for but still needs house manners and leash training but will go to his crate on demand and comes when called for. He's wonderful with kids of all ages and other dogs, not yet tested with cats. With some structure, this dog could be your bestest boy with all the great characteristics of the breed, calm, friendly, watchful, loyal, well balanced. If you're looking for a sweet, mature 3 year old, he can be your guy! More photos coming soon!

Story
Ralphie is fostered in the DFW area and is developing into a happy pup, I mean, look at that smile. He loves playing and learning from his foster siblings. As a young pup, he was found scavenging for food with his head stuck in a cereal box. His malnourishment contributed to a condition called rickets in his back legs. The vet assured us that this condition improves with good nutrition and exercise. Apply today to meet Ralphie TGPR.org

Story
Charlie is a sweet Akbash/Pyr mix, who is protective of his person, and has the typical Pyr attitude. He is fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped. He is approximately 3-4 years old and weighs 102 pounds. Charlie does well with the smaller dogs in the current foster home, though would probably do best as an only dog. Charley very much enjoys "working"...having something to do. Though we do not allow him to be an outdoor dog, he very much enjoys his time in the yard/sun. He loves going for walks, but is often scared of other unknown big dogs. Charlie is great with the cats in the current foster home, and absolutely LOVES men!!! If interested in Charlie, please fill out our foster or adoption application online: www.salvagedsoulspetrescue.org.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Tyana is one of several dogs who were found on a ranch in the Texas Hill Country. We can only speculate, but we believe that the property owners moved away and left the dogs to fend for themselves.  Tyana's mom Lydia is VERY friendly, but her pups (two generations) are completely unsocialized, so we're guessing they may have been born after the people moved. It's quite possible that the Animal Control Officers who hauled away Tyana and her family were the first humans that she ever had any close contact with. At Windsong Ranch, Tyana is very slowly learning to trust me, but she is still extremely skittish of people in general. Getting her to walk on a leash in order to go to the vet's office is a real challenge, but we've managed it, and once at the vet's office, Tyana has remained calm and quiet. She seems content to stay inside the house, but seems happier and less anxious when she is outside. Tyana gets along well with other dogs and is very playful with them. We believe she would do best in a home with a confident male dog, who can help her see that humans are trustworthy. Due to her skittish nature, she MUST go to a home with secure (visible) fencing. If you are ready to make the commitment to devote yourself to earning Tyana's trust, please complete the application on our website. NOTE: I really struggle to get decent photos of Tyana -- she almost always looks very anxious, even when she's happy -- it's like she's in witness protection and thinks that having her photo taken puts her life at risk. In some of these photos, she is hanging out with other unsocialized or feral dogs, and moments before I pulled out my phone, they were usually happy and smiling, but as soon as I point the camera at them, most of them look like I might be about to kill them. Silly dogs. Also, in some photos, she has what looks like an injury diagonal across her face. Nope, that's just a berry stain. Tyana likes to dig, and it shows in some of these photos. Story
Why rescue a Pyr? Adopt Marvel! This handsome male Pyr has a story to melt your heart . After being left on a rural property, Marvel lived outdoors taking shelter under a porch since 2018. Dallas Dogrr took Marvel in when this poor boy was shot with an arrow and was heart worm posiitive. He healed quickly and began living with one of our fosters. After a few months it was discovered that he had cancer that was contained in his front right leg. Amputation being the standard of care, Marvel became a tripod and is now cancer free! Marvel took no time to transition to the three legs. He loves running in the backyard and checking for any animal activity. He also is good buddies with the foster's two dogs; taking cues from them regarding house rules. Marvel is a smart guy, becoming more sure of himself each day. He has now mastered running! Pyrs are know for walking the fence line and roaming, so a secure tall fence is a must for Marvel. As for barking, Marvel is a minimalist; and not easily excitable. Marvel starts his day with a good morning wag of the tail! During the day he enjoys chillaxing on cushy dog beds, chewing on a bone here and there. He loves massages and belly rubs, too! When he wants to go outside he shows excitement by "hopping to his foster mom and then to the door. If he really wants attention, he will "speak with his low manly voice usually letting you know it's time to make his dinner. Where his people or dogs are is where he wants to be. Whether inside on some cushy spot or outside enjoying some cool breezes he is a happy pup! Despite living outside for years, Marvel is house broken and has never messed in the house. Good with a doggie door. Not a fan of a crate, but is fine in a good size room with a dog bed. Good when left alone in house too. He listens to verbal correction, such as the word no if he tries to get on the couch. Marvel enjoys people giving him attention and has been exposed to all ages at our adoption events. Would be most happy with at least one other dog. Unsure about his feelings on cats.
