Story
Mater was 6 months old when we rescued him. His brother and him were put out on a farm with goats as pups. At 6 months he was spooked of the fireworks and jumped out of the fence so they chained him in there. He is an amazing guard dog but now tries to protect us from our other large dogs. He is now 2 years old and it is only getting worse. I love him dearly and is the hardest decision I have ever had to make. He is so loyal as he doesn’t leave my side. He is silly and playful especially with my little dog who he is very protective of. He needs room to run with a place to go when it thunders, fireworks or gunshots. He can’t be skittish or scared in unfamiliar surroundings. He has never tried to get out of our fenced in 8 acres. He can’t be near busy roads as he has never been near one and most likely get hit. We are just walking on eggshells trying to keep them apart in fear of him hurting the other dogs. We do have chickens and cats which he is great around as well.

Story
Hope ❤️ Hope is a young, mixed breed girl who had a rough start in life. She came in with 5 puppies & was starved completely out. Her puppies are weaned, and Hope's ready for a new beginning! Shes been in since 11-18-24. Hope was happy to get some exercise and check out all the new smells around the farm at Playcare. She showed some reactivity to other dogs and resource guarding behaviors today. All very common issues with our shelter friends! Hope would benefit from a stable environment and working with a trainer or experienced owner to help her overcome these issues. If you are interested in helping Hope, reach out to City AC!
