Story
Mater was 6 months old when we rescued him. His brother and him were put out on a farm with goats as pups. At 6 months he was spooked of the fireworks and jumped out of the fence so they chained him in there. He is an amazing guard dog but now tries to protect us from our other large dogs. He is now 2 years old and it is only getting worse. I love him dearly and is the hardest decision I have ever had to make. He is so loyal as he doesn’t leave my side. He is silly and playful especially with my little dog who he is very protective of. He needs room to run with a place to go when it thunders, fireworks or gunshots. He can’t be skittish or scared in unfamiliar surroundings. He has never tried to get out of our fenced in 8 acres. He can’t be near busy roads as he has never been near one and most likely get hit. We are just walking on eggshells trying to keep them apart in fear of him hurting the other dogs. We do have chickens and cats which he is great around as well.

These pups are in Gallatin, Tennessee too!

Quick Facts: Age - 1yrs old Home - a home with a fenced in yard, no apartment or condo Kids - Would do well with older kids (10+) Dogs - Good with large female dogs Cats - NO cats Training - needs basic & advanced obedience training 1. I found myself in a high kill shelter, due to no fault of my own. It was a scary place but thankfully IDGSR came to my rescue! 2. Since coming into the rescue, my personality is starting to come out. I am curious, athletic, friendly, calm but I do love to play. 3. I would love to go on hikes, runs, walks, go swimming, or any adventures you will take me on. I hope you are active because I love to be! 4. I am a gentle giant. I have a calm and mellow personality. My foster mom thinks I'd make a great mobility service dog, with the proper training of course! 5. It would be great to have a nice, friendly, large female doggo to play with in my next home. Playing is one of my favorite things to do & having a female pup to play with would be awesome! 6. I need the standard range of obedience training.
