HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.---- Came from a situation where he did not get the socialization and exposure to the world that dogs typically get from a young age; has been doing very well in his foster home but still may struggle with new situations and things - Big, fluffy teddy bear of a dog who loves pets and attention and will ask for it by pushing his head into your hands; also loves it when you hold his paw - Loves chew toys and is excellent at shredding stuffed toys; also likes being outside and in the snow with his people - A goofball who doesn't realize his size and may forget to watch out for people and things when he's running and playing - Knows sit and shake - especially for treats - Has done well with housetraining in his foster home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new schedule and routine - Is used to being in a kennel when his foster family is gone and has done well; at night, he sleeps through the night next to his foster family's bed - Has shown struggles with leash walking, indicating he may not have had much exposure to it; will need continued work on this in his new home and would benefit from a fenced yard - Loves the school-age kids in his foster home and frequently climbs into their laps for snuggles - Likes the small dogs in his foster home and would probably enjoy a playmate who is closer to his size All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: White Weight: 0 Age: 2yrs 1mths 3wks

Story
Hello, I'm Mo! I'm the sweetest, friendliest, most curious dog you'll ever meet. I've lived most of my life outdoors, so I could adapt again to that life or life inside loving you. I do good in a kennel and seem to be pretty well potty-trained. I'm selective about other dogs so a proper introduction is a must. I absolutely LOVE my belly rubbed.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2032005##
