I came from a horrendous puppy mill; a total of 60 dogs were found in the facility and saved by Animal Rescue Corps. All of us were kept chained, given only enough food and water to survive, and barely had contact with humans. I'm now living in an FTF foster home, savoring my freedom, and dreaming of my forever home. I know that taking a chance on a pup who, up until now, has only experienced cruelty is a big ask. But as the volunteers here quickly realized, my previous abusive environment has not defined me. I'm making friends with everyone I encounter - 2-legged and 4-legged alike. And I know that with your love and understanding, I'll soon be able to put my past behind me and become the wonderful canine companion I was always meant to be.A few facts about me. I've discovered the joys of hanging out with other dogs. So if there's another canine in your household to be my buddy and mentor, that would be terrific. I also enjoy having my own patch of grass to explore, so my ideal home will include a fenced yard. As you can see from my photo, I'm on the thin side and need to gain some weight. That won't be hard though, because the first time I was given a treat, my mouth exploded in happiness, and I couldn't wait for another. My food motivation not only will help me fill out but will also make training me easy peasy. Fetching Tails requires adopters of young dogs like me to sign us up for training classes, and I really think the class setting will help me gain more confidence and build our bond together. Speaking of training, I am mostly potty trained; I sometimes need to be reminded it is time to go outside to do my business, but I can hold it for long lengths of time now and overnight. And I'm happy to report that I go in my crate without fuss and quietly settle in, I consider it my safe space and often go in on my own without coaxing.I am a girl with a lot of love to give the special, patient humans who give me a chance to keep blossoming and learning what it really means to be a beloved companion. If that sounds like you, I hope you fill out an adoption application soon!Love and licks,RowenaIf you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.
