Story
Hi! I'm Berk! I'm a 2-1/2-year-old neutered purebred Turkish Kangal, which is a breed of livestock guardian dog (LGD). Through no fault of my own, I'm looking for a new home. My people got me so I could guard their livestock from predators, but I'd rather play with everybody! I especially love playing with other dogs but I'm a big goof, and my attempts at playing tend to make me look scary to other dogs -- even though I really don't want to be scary at all. Truth is, I'm a big drop-dead gorgeous boy, and a beautiful mover. I love people and although I'm officially an adult I'm still very much a playful puppy! I'd be an awesome companion dog for the right person. I'm currently in Livingston, MT but am willing to travel for the right home. If you understand my breed and live in a rural environment with adequate fencing to keep me home, please text Brooks at 973-903-1723; or email brooks.watson1@gmail.com. Thanks.

These pups are in Boulder, Colorado too!

Story
Grits is an incredible companion that loves playing in the outdoors. She is 6 years old and we have had her since she was a puppy. She absolutely loves mountain biking, skiing, paddle boarding, and anything active outside. She’s a little anxious about diesel trucks. Grits needs to be in a single dog household. We would love to find her the right new home.

Story
Butter is a Great Pyrenees mix. We have had him for 2 years and during that time have put a lot of work into his training. He is great with people and kids, but not other dogs. I don’t have the confidence he needs. For his safety, and the safety of other dogs, he needs to find someone who is comfortable exerting control. He is 85 lbs , neutered and responds to place, heal, sit, shake, wait, and load up (kennel and car). Additionally, his trainer, Bernadette at Black Paw, said she offered to do a session with new adoptees/ foster on how to use electronic buzz collar, his commands etc. and she said she’d be happy to talk with you all about him. He is loved but needs more than I can give. He smiles, looks deep into your eyes, love treats and Nyla bones. He loves walks, and snuggling on the coach. Because of his Pyrenees genes he is protective of his people. He would not make a good farm dog despite his breed. Rehoming him is the hardest thing I have ever done.

Story
Meet Milo! Milo is a Great Pyrenees mix who'll be 2 years old in February 2025. He's funloving, energetic and he loves people. Sadly, his person is having some health issues and needs to find a new home for Milo. He'll do great in a household with active people. He'd love to have a dog friend, but he isn't great with kitties (he thinks they're for chasing). He needs a fenced yard to run around in. He was crate-trained when he was a puppy, but he's been sleeping on the bed with his person for the last few months. This boy has had some anxiety issues where he's nervous around new people at first, but he warms up quickly. He's on a medication that helps him with this. Milo walks nicely with a harness. He has responded well to training but his person hasn't been able to walk him for very long recently because of her health issues. Milo will bark a bit when he sees other dogs on a walk, but his training from here on out could focus on that issue. Milo is housetrained, loves toys and especially likes to play tug. For more info and/or to apply to adopt Milo, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.
