Story
This gorgeous Abyssinian mix is Mama Garden. She is the mama of 5 beautiful babies and is very lucky to have found her way to a rescue so she and her babies can thrive in a foster home and ultimately find forever loving homes. Garden is about 2 years old, is very friendly and loving, doesn’t play much, but makes up for it with attention, and she loves to eat! She is especially attached to Rowan, but would be a great pair with any of her babies or with another cat in the adoptive home that she can make friends with. We have no knowledge of how she is with dogs or young children. If interested in meeting her for adoption, please complete an application at rescueangelssomd.com. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FVRCP and rabies vaccinated, microchipped, FeLV/FIV tested, dewormed, and clean and healthy. Indoor homes only, no declawing, and serious committed adopters only.

Story
Did my beautiful picture catch your eye? I`m Sophia, a very sophisticated older lady. You might notice I look a little different than your typical house cat - I`m actually an Abyssinian cat. I`m leaner, more muscular, have larger ears and a unique colored coat! As an older lady at 12 years young, I`m a bit set in my ways. I`d prefer a quieter household with no small children in order to feel comfortable and fully come out of my shell in a home environment. Loud noises can be scary, you know! I`m nervous at first but have patience and give me some time and I`m sure to warm up! Once you`ve gained my trust, you won`t be able to hold me back from giving you all the kisses, head bumps and nose boops. I`ll even chat with you about your day! In my previous home, I did live with another cat, although it`s not known how close we were, but I`d potentially be open to a laid-back, gentle friend. Come see just how sweet I can be! Interested in adopting me? We recommend submitting a general online adoption application and then calling the shelter during our normal adoption hours (Mon: 12-4pm and Tues-Sun: 12-5pm) to discuss next steps. Please note: all applications are considered general until the animal has been met. If you have any questions, please contact animalcenter@bmorehumane.org or 410-833-8848 Ext/Opt 2.

Story
Meet Amelia! Amelia is a beautiful, petite, Abyssinian cat, about 3-4 years old. She was found living under someone's porch with her 5 kittens.Amelia came into care in May 2022. She is a "Violet," meaning she is very shy and not your typical house cat. She is great in the litterbox but is not a fan (yet) of being pet, although she has allowed her foster mom to give her medicine orally and vaccinate her with no problems. She just needs time to trust people.Amelia will need a patient person who is able to meet her on her own terms. Someone who will let Amelia just "be" - to be in her new home and explore, and when she is comfortable, to come to her new person to be pet. Amelia will need a quiet, low activity home with no children under the age of 13 years old.Because she is a Violet, her adoption fee is greatly reduced pending an approved application. She is dewormed, spayed, received her rabies vaccine, an FVRCP vaccine, tested negative on a combo test, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Interested in giving this sweetheart a home for the holidays? Please let us know. GoodMews22@aol.comNovember 8, 2024, 10:46 am
