Story
Meet D'Artagnan, our 5-year-old Yorkipoo with a big personality packed into a little body! If you're looking for a fun-loving companion, this sweet and silly guy is up for whatever adventure you're planning. Whether it's binge-watching Emily in Paris, spending a weekend at the beach, or even just cleaning the house, D'Artagnan is your loyal sidekick who will make everything more enjoyable.   He’s an affectionate pup who thrives on positive reinforcement and learns quickly by watching his canine buddies. D'Artagnan loves going for walks. He can be excitable on the leash, so continued positive reinforcement training will help with that, though he's more of a short-walk enthusiast than a hiker. If you're up for carrying him in a pet backpack, he's totally game! He adores puzzle toys, frozen Kongs, and, of course, snuggles with his favorite humans.   While he can be a bit nervous in new situations or with strangers, D'Artagnan quickly warms up with encouragement and patience. He’s not a fan of rain or wet grass, but he loves playdates with other dogs, especially calm or small ones, really bring out his playful, joyful side.   We are sure this little Musketeer would love a yard, but he’d be fine with apartment living too, as long as he has enough playtime to get his zoomies out!   D'Artagnan dislikes surprises, loud motorcycles, and people sneaking up behind him, but he’s fine with vacuums. With his wiggly, curious, and playful nature, he’ll charm everyone he meets—even if he barks first he quickly transitions to licks on the hand. If you’re ready for a cuddly, fun-loving companion who will be by your side no matter what, D'Artagnan is your guy!   At the time you are seeing this post, this dog is still available for adoption. But please know that we may be working on multiple applications already, and any one of them could be approved at any time. This does not even come close to covering all expenses created by animals while in rescue. We are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum fee includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate,, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate, and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying, if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. In an attempt to avoid tummy upset from a sudden change of food, the foster family may include a small, transitional bag of the food the dog/puppy has been eating. And if the dog/puppy has grown attached to a special item (like a toy or blanket), they may send that along, as well. */*/* Young puppies will receive age-appropriate vaccines, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters may be required to provide additional puppy boosters and at 16 weeks of age, a rabies vaccine. Future annual vaccines, testing and monthly heartworm preventative are REQUIRED, and will be the financial responsibility of the adopter. *****Due to the sheer number of animals and applications in our program, coupled with a limited number of volunteers, applicants MUST have patience as we process applications.   If you do not hear back from us, the animal may have been adopted.   We strive to let people know but sadly cannot offer reasons for denial beyond that.  Any harassment of our volunteers will go unanswered and we will simply block you.   Our volunteers spend their time working hard to ensure the very best for each animal.   Please remember the animal, not the applicant, is our client.*****  ##2178608##

Story
Meet Lenore! This sweet girl is doing wonderfully with her crate and house training, and while she's a bit cautious at first, she quickly blossoms into a loyal, affectionate companion with a little patience and care. Lenore is great with other dogs but will need a home without cats. She thrives on attention and is very food-motivated, the perfect recipe for training sucess! Lenore will need continued work on her loose-leash walking skills, but she's eager to learn and always stays close by. Lenore loves spending time outdoors and looks forward to her crate at night, where she settles in easily. She enjoys car rides, cuddling, and keeping an eye on the world from the window. Her curious nature and love of snuggles make her the perfect companion for someone who enjoys a mix of adventure and quiet, cozy moments. She’s calm and easygoing, though her playful side shines through when she's playing tug, chewing on her favorite toys, or running around with kids and other dogs. If you're looking for a loving, attentive, and playful companion, Lenore is ready to be your new best friend. Continued training with GDU (either virtual or in person) will be a requirement for adoption. Preference will be given to adopters able to attend Canine 101 in person at GDU.   At the time you are seeing this post, this dog is still available for adoption. Story
Meet Heath, our affectionate and playful 2-year-old Yorkie mix full of puppy energy and snuggles! He sleeps like a dream in his crate overnight and is making great strides with house training. Heath loves a good adventure—whether it's a car ride or a walk around the neighborhood, he's ready to explore! As a social butterfly, he adores playing with other dogs. He will need continued positive reinforcement to manage his excitement on walks, as he tends to get a little too enthusiastic about greeting all of his new found best friends! This little guy thrives on attention and will happily come running when you call. He's affectionate, curious, rambunctious, and oh-so-wiggly! Whether he's making you laugh with his silly antics or snuggling up after a long play session, Heath is the perfect mix of lively and lovebug. When he's tired, Heath transforms into the snuggliest little cuddle buddy and will happily let you carry him around while showering you with kisses. Due to his silly nature and his still learning to curb playful excitement mouthing, school-aged or otherwise dog dog-savvy kiddos would be best if you have littles at home. But with his willingness to please, he'll get there in no time. If you're looking for a curious, adventurous, cuddly, and endlessly loving companion, Heath might just be the one for you! Continued training with GDU, either in-person or virtual will be required for adoption consideration. Preference given to those who can attend our Canine 101 in person. Story
Marvelous Mollie is such a gentle and playful little girl. She was one of 42 surrendered to various rescues from a retiring backyard breeder. She has lived the majority of her life in an outside pen with multiple other dogs. She hoped the larger dogs left her food. She is still skittish but comes up for love and affection when I sit or lie down. She has done wonderfully with her house training as she is taken out on at regular intervals. She is not leash trained yet as she is just getting used to wearing a collar. She will require a fenced area until she learns the leash. She is completely vetted and microchipped. Mollie had beautiful long white hair like a silky, but unfortunately, she was so matted in areas that she had to be shaved. This sweet girl is fostered in E. TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee. We use Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal friendly transport on the road. Please email us for an adoption application.
