Story
Cassidy is a sweet 7 yr old, 6 lb Yorkshire Terrier.  Cassidy was a shelter rescue, so we don’t know much about her background. She can be somewhat hesitant when meeting new people but warms up fairly quickly. Toys and a dog bed seem to be new for her, but she is loving and enjoys the attention of her foster family. Cassidy follows her foster mom everywhere and loves to be on the sofa beside her. She can be quick around doorways, so her new family needs to be vigilant. Cassidy is still working on housetraining, so she needs someone patient and willing to take her out regularly as she continues learning. She just started leash training. Cassidy could be an only dog or have another dog under 10 pounds in the home. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher with gaps no larger than 1 1/2 inches, attached to the home and accessible from a usable house door.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio, deck or terrace, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) they need to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500November 4, 2024, 1:54 am

Story
Olive is a tiny, sweet 2-year-old, 6-pound, female Yorkshire Terrier.  We have her mom, Tillie, in foster care as well, and know her dad was a Yorkie, but Olive's ears seem to point to another small breed in the mix; regardless she is 100% cute!  She is happy and bonded quickly with her foster parents.  Olive is all about her people. She will give a little bark if she can’t find you in the house.  She enjoys sitting with her foster mom while she is working. Olive is very quick around doorways, so her new family need to be vigilant to keep her from slipping out. Since Olive loves to be close to her human, she can get underfoot and could be a tripping hazard to those with balance issues.  Housetraining and leash training are new to her, so Olive will need someone with patience and willingness to take her out regularly for her to be successful.  Olive enjoys the other tiny dogs in her foster home. She could be an only dog or have another dog under 12 pounds in the home. We require an all-adult home with a small, securely fenced yard for Olive.  The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD FOR Olive’S ADOPTIVE HOME.  The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, gaps no larger than 1 1/2 inches, which is attached to the home.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace without grass, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions.  We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Tillie is an active and energetic 5-year-old, 5-pound, female Yorkshire Terrier.  She is loving and enjoys the attention she is getting from her foster family. Tillie follows her foster mom from room to room and loves to be on the couch beside her.  Tillie is VERY quick around doorways, so her new family needs to be vigilant to keep her from slipping out. Since Tillie loves to be close to her human, she can get underfoot and could be a tripping hazard to those with balance issues.  She will be your shadow everywhere you go in the house.  It is a challenge to keep her from following her foster parents when they leave the house. She does not want to be without them!  Tillie is still working on housetraining. She will need someone with patience and willingness to take her out regularly for her to be successful. Story
Bentley is a 2 1/2-year-old, 7-pound Yorkie or possibly Yorkie mix.  He is blonder than most Yorkies and his coat texture is different than a typical Yorkie.   Bentley gets along well with other little dogs and enjoys playing with toys.  He prefers a lap to sit on, but when one is not available, his spot of choice is the back of the sofa.  He sleeps with his foster parent and prefers to be under the covers pressed up against his person. Bentley loves women and men equally and wants nothing more than to spend time with a person, on their lap and sleep in the big bed.  Bentley is doing well on leash training and housetraining. Bentley could be an only dog or have another dog under 12 pounds in the home. We require an all-adult home with a small securely fenced yard.    The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. Story
Hadley is a sweet Yorkie who is 8 years old and weighs 9 lbs. Hadley is an observant Yorkie yet, tends to be quieter than most and loves attention.  Hadley came to us as a breeder release and had never lived in a home as someone's dog, so many things are new to her, such as noises around the home and stairs. She has learned quickly to adapt and enjoys sitting on the couch with her foster parents.  Hadley is working on housetraining and leash walking, but she will need someone with time and patience to help her be successful.  We also have Hadley’s sister Harkness in foster care. Harkness is a little more outgoing. They would make a perfect pair for someone looking to adopt two Yorkies, however, they are not necessarily bonded and do well being separate from each other, so we are not requiring them to be adopted together. Please take a look at Harkness’ bio if you are interested in adopting two Yorkies.  Hadley could be an only dog or have another dog under 15 pounds in the home. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. Story
Harkness is a sweet little Yorkie, who is 8 years old and weighs 8 lbs.  Harkness is a lovebug! She likes to “talk” and will give you a little bark when she needs some attention. She came to us as a breeder release pup and never lived in a home as someone’s loving pet until she came to us. So many things are new to her like normal home noises and stairs. She is learning very quickly about love and enjoys snuggling up with her foster mom.  Harkness is working on housetraining and leash walking but will need someone with time and patience to help her be successful. We also have Hadley, who is Harkness’ sister. Hadley is a little more reserved, but equally beautiful and sweet. They would make a perfect pair for someone looking to adopt two dogs, however, they are not necessarily bonded and do well separate from each other, so we are not requiring them to be adopted together.
