Not only is he adorable, but he is super sweet. Alfie is both quiet, and clean, and a perfect little sweetheart that would be happy beside his special person enjoying a quiet life. He came to us from our favorite WV shelter partner with another little fellow. They were part of a group of five dogs that had been in the same home. We believe they were surrendered together to the shelter when their owner passed away. Fully grown at just 8 pounds, he is a perfect size for many pet lovers! Alfie is in good health, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. We are seeking a home with an adopter able to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with him. A home without larger pets or small children, and with a fenced, secure yard will be in Alfie's best interest. He loves everyone he meets as well as other well behaved dogs. Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of Alfie and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet Alfie at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting him and determining that he matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. Meet Jazz and Wobbles! These two are a mother and daughter pair who came to us in August from a local animal control. They were part of a hoarding case and are very attached. THIS IS A BONDED PAIR AND MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER. Jazz is a 4.5-year-old Yorkie mix weighing 15 lbs. Wobbles is a 6.5-year-old Yorkie mix weighing 25 lbs. Both had cherry eyes when they arrived, and we fixed the surgery but Wobbles’ returned. Because they haven't been outside much until now, they're scared of new things and noises, so they need to have a fenced yard. They love attention but need time to trust you. They're currently living with other dogs and a child in their foster home without any problems. If you're patient and willing to give them love, they'll be wonderful additions to your family! Meet Daisy! She was surrendered to a local animal control when her owners were moving. Since settling into her foster home, she has ben a lovely girl. Don't let her crazy haircut fool you - she was severely matted when she came in....but she's going to be oh-so-cute once her hair grows back in! Here's what her foster family has to say about her "She is super friendly and has been around little kids and my teenagers and does great. She understands commands, sit stay lay down. She loves cuddling and loves going on walks. She sleeps in bed with my daughter at night. She barks when people come into the room or into the house, but just to tell you someone’s there. Her hair is already starting to grow back. She gets along fine with our Yorkie. She doesn’t really bother him too much or try to play with him. We leave her out with our other dog when we’re out of the house" Daisy has been spayed and had a small little mass removed. She is UTD on vaccines, heartworm tested, and microchipped. She will come with 6 months of heartworm prevention, and 30 days of pet insurance for her new owners.
