Story
Imagine your cutest, favorite stuffed animal coming to life and licking your face -- that's Boba. This adorable Yorkie/Chihuahua mix is part of a bonded pair with his son, Beans. The two together will be sure to steal your heart. Boba and Beans chase, wrestle and pounce when they play with each other. Boba also enjoys romping with other dogs, kids, toys, you name it. He gets along with cats and even puts up with being dressed in doll clothes. Of course Boba is not a doll, but a live animal. As such, he has a few weaknesses. He is not leash or house trained. Also, like most small dogs, Boba is quite vocal. But being tiny also makes Boba the perfect size to cuddle, an activity he adores. He'll lay by your side for hours, or enthusiastically lick your cheek when you pick him up. He also enjoys car rides when Beans is along. Yes, Boba is absolutely precious -- with ears bigger than his head, and a soft, sleek coat, he can be the apple of your eye forever. Story
If cuteness was a super power, Beans would be an Avenger. Yes, he's that cute. He's traffic stopping cute. He's sneak-a-peak-over-your-shoulder-for-another-look cute. He's quite definitely adopt-me-now cute. After all it's hard not to be adorable when you're as tiny as this Yorkie/Chihuahua mix. But Beans is more than just cute. He's also very affectionate. He's great with all the dogs in his foster home. Beans is also fine with cats and loves gentle humans both large and small. He clearly enjoys being picked up and will sleep in your lap for hours. Beans luxuriates in full body petting, which he pays back with kisses. Even being dressed in clothes or costumes is OK with Beans. Yes, this is a small pup with a big personality. There are pros and cons to that. The negative is that, like many small dogs, Beans is vocal, especially when left alone. He's happier and quieter when people and other dogs are with him. Beans loves zooming around to play with kids, balls, toys and his dad, Boba. In fact, he and Boba are a bonded pair and should be adopted together. Like any normal dog, Beans still has a few issues. He's being treated for Heartworms and also needs to be neutered. Both of these issues will be dealt with by December 21. As of 12/22 Beans is free to go home with you! You should know that, while Beans is sweet and listens and responds well to gentle correction, he still has some learning to do. He is not leash or harness trained. Also, he is not house trained. Finally, Beans marks territory indoors, a habit that usually ceases after a dog is neutered. Of course no dog is perfect. But life with Beans can be loads of fun. He's great on car rides as long as Boba is with him. Their foster mom hasn't tried it yet but sees no reason why the pair can't be put in a vehicle and driven to places like The Pearl. Until they are leash trained, it might be a blast to roll them around in an old baby carriage or similar conveyance. After all, when you have a pup with Super Power Cuteness, why not share him with the world? So fly to your phone or keyboard to adopt Beans and Boba today. Story
Hello! I’m Barbara, an 8-year-old yorkie who weighs about 7 pounds. When I first came into the rescue, I had a lot of fleas and multiple masses that my friends helped me out with. Now that I am all healed, I am ready to find my forever home! I get along with cats and dogs, but I would prefer friends who are on the calmer side as I like to lounge around and am not big into playing. I am potty trained and will tolerate a crate, but those aren’t my favorite. However, I am a very well-behaved girl if I am left out without supervision. I absolutely love people, and once I bond to someone, it is debatable on whether or not I may love them a little too much. In my defense, I am trying to help them stay safe, but I have heard these people say things like “Barbara is obsessed with me” or “Barbara is bossing me around”. Maybe they just don’t want to admit that I am a great helper. I love helping inside and outside the house. I am forever curious about the next gardening project. Anyways, although I may be a little much at times, I am just very grateful to have a second chance. Can you blame me? My lifelong dream has been to have a family who loves me just as much as I love them. If you have been looking for a little girl with a big personality and a dash of sass, I may be your girl! Barbara is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative and have had a dental. My adoption fee is $300. If you are interested in meeting this little precious one please submit an application which can be found on our website poquitapawsrescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS Poquita Paws does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes spay/neutered, rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventrative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport to most states across the country. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to youi  Thank you. December 10, 2024, 6:59 pm
