Story
Meet Riley, a 13 year old, 9 pound Yorkie boy being fostered in Georgetown, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered. Hello to all my potential furever families! My name is Riley and I am so so so happy to have been rescued by the UYR team! The picture UYR took of me was right after my haircut. It's the first haircut I have had in over 18 months. I still was not certain that anything had changed for me and I don't look very happy. I don't know time, but I can tell you that I feel like I was put in jail for some reason that I don't understand. I don't have too much memory about all of that time, I just know I was always hungry, itchy, and hurting. Foster Mom says I was depressed because of the NEGLECT. She says that word has to be in all capitals because it's a very bad word. I was once a very happy healthy 12 lb yorkie boy. But something in my life changed and I was no longer being cared for like I once was. Nobody was feeding me regularly, taking me outside in the sunshine regularly, or getting my haircut regularly. The NEGLECT during this time has made me drop down to 9 lbs, have very red and swollen feet and skin, infected ears, and bowed out legs. Foster Mom says no furbaby should ever lose a fourth of their entire body in such a short period of time!!!! The NEGLECT is very very bad indeed! All the nice people at UYR and my new dogter have said I never have to worry about the NEGLECT again. I still have a ways to go yet, but I am feeling much better. I have foster siblings to play with, am taking medicine, eating regularly, taking nice baths, and taking short walks out in the sunshine! Foster Mom says all of this will help me heal from the NEGLECT. I am also starting to dream about a furever family. I would like a family that will let me continue to do all of these things and never ever ever think about the NEGLECT again. Thank you for listening to my story and considering making me your furever baby. Foster Mom said she will send new pics once I've had a chance to heal some more. If you can help the good people at UYR continue their mission of rescuing other furbabies like me, please click the link below my story and donate. Your help makes for happy endings! Hugs and Kisses -- Riley

Story
Reese was adopted in Jarrell, TX from a breeder. He is a 8 year old adult Yorkie mix. Reese loves to go on walks (he owns the road), he enjoys sitting on the couch, and goes crazy for cheese and Pupperoni treats. Reese is fun, relaxed, and family friendly. Reese is trained to do many tricks or to follow certain commands (spin, sit, lay, bed, cage, down, out >> to go outside) and he is easy to care for. He loves to go on adventures in the car or to be carried around in a large purse or bag for fun! He has to have his head out to see the world though! He also loves to sleep cuddled up in a cozy pet bed or a blanket (he loves blankets!) We are looking for a single person, an elderly person, a small or large family to take Reese so that he can get all the personal attention that he desires. Want to keep the pack together? He is bonded to another male dog named Levi. He is available as well. Check out his profile!

Story
Meet sweet Casper, a handsome 10 month old, 10 pound Yorkie mix boy being fostered in Austin, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered This precious 10mth old United Yorkie Rescue baby has a story and I wish he could speak. Casper came to us through an area shelter. He was found limping and taken to a nearby ER. After assessment for unknown trauma, he was sent to the shelter. The shelter had xrays performed due to heavy bruising in the inguinal area and around his scrotum. He was found to have a fracture in his pelvis. We have no idea what had happened to this sweet baby. What we do know is that we have this sweet puppy now and can guarantee you that he will have his best life ever. Casper was immediately taken to our vets for assessment and he is on strict crate rest. This trauma injury could be one of abuse or something that had to have hit him fairly hard to cause the bruising under his tummy around the scrotum area. He can stand for a short time, but this is definitely painful so he sits within just a few seconds. He is quite wobbly as well on flooring. He is on crate rest, pain meds and a laxative while his body heals. His foster mom is currently assisting him with a sling for standing to help him urinate and defecate as this assists on the strain on him to perform these functions. We have a few months of healing before Casper will be ready for adoption, but please feel free to send your application in and or address your questions to his foster mom through the email listed below. As you may know, Caspers care will require continual xrays, possible hydrotherapy, and cold laser therapy for his best healing. Your donations to his care would be greatly appreciated as we have another little girl who is currently receiving critical care for her medical care. We thank you for your love, and bless you for all you do for our babies!

Story
Meet Violet, a 10 pound, 2-3 year old Yorkie girl being fostered in Southern Texas. Only Texas applicants will be considered. Miss Violet recently came to UYR with her 2 brothers, Theo and Nugget who were in an abusive home situation. Violet, who is about 3 years old, didnt have a lot of exposure to humans and the outside world. She is a very very sweet girl who takes time to warm up and then falls in love with you. With strangers it takes time to get to know you and then she barks at you next time she sees you. lol lol.She is starting to relax and now zooms around and plays with the puppy in her foster home. She is having fun being outside and greeting new strangers that walk by her yard with a bark that protects her new home. We are waiting to see if this little girl may have some babies of her own so we will have to get back to you on that one soon. Miss Violet will be a wonderful addition to a family who has patience and is willing to help her transition to a loving companion. She would thrive with a family where there are no children so she can slowly get used to her new space. If you would like more information on Miss Violet please email her foster at UYRtxbets@gmail.com

Story
Meet Rascal, a handsome Yorkie mix boy 2 years old and 10 pounds. He is being fostered in Liberty Hill, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered. Hello there! My name is Rascal. As you can see, I am extremely adorable. I am about 12-18 months old we believe....and I am in good health...the Dogtor told me so! I had a bit of a rough start in life, and did not get a lot of attention or handling. However, my foster mom has changed that for me! I have been with them for almost 2 weeks now and have made huge strides! She's pretty sure I am potty trained too....I have been doing very well at her house! I LOVE dogs....so the perfect home for me would have a dog sibling that I could play with and hang out...big and small alike! They have both sizes where I am staying! My perfect home would have someone who is home most of the day, as I will need to be worked with some more on handling and such...my foster mom said she will help you! I am shy at first, and once I warm up to you, YOU are my person! I follow foster mom around like the adorable little shadow that I am. I probably would not be best for a home with small children however, as I can get nervous in that situation. I am learning to love sleeping in bed with my foster mom...or just hanging out on the couch! I love to chew on toys, and am a very good eater (which is good, as she says I need to gain a bit of weight). If you are interested in learning more about me, you can email my foster mom at rescuesreallyrock@gmail.com. I am currently located in Liberty Hill, Texas!
