She is 2 ½ years old and weighs 14 pounds Her adoption fee is $800. Charlotte was found tied to a post in the parking lot of a 7-11. A good Samaritan rescued her but was unable to keep her due to her own health issues and contacted Save A Yorkie. Charlotte was very timid and startled easily when she first came to us, but with lots of love and stability has come out of her shell.  She is a fun, feisty companion who loves to be outdoors, enjoys playing with her toys, our other dogs, running and exploring our backyard. She is well behaved for a two-year-old but would benefit from professional training. She loves her person and has a protective streak. She would do well in a home where she receives a lot of time and attention. She will follow you everywhere. Daily exercise is an absolute must for her to release some of her energy.  Car rides are not a favorite, she does best when crated for the ride. She is spayed and up to date on her shots.  She will require a yard with a 6 foot fence. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Dupris is part of a bonded pair of Yorkies and will have to be adopted with his brother Deno. He is 6 years old and weighs 9 lbs. The adoption fee for both dogs is $800.00. Dupris and Deno came to us on Saturday the day after Ruff left.    It is a treat for us to have a bonded pair and to watch them play and cavort together.     Deno is the more outgoing of the two and he laps up attention and loves to lick faces.    Dupris is less sure of novelty but has adjusted well and appears quite at home on our chaise lounge.    They were surrendered because of illnesses in their family and had been home alone for a while before they came to us so they were a bit rambunctious at first. In the beginning, I kept them crated when I went out but the past few days I have left them without crating them and they have behaved very well and greeted me warmly when I got home.    They have their vet appointments scheduled for next week and their neuter scheduled for November 12th.    Dupris and Deno are staying with Sam in Pittsburgh, PA.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 17, 2024, 12:31 am

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Handsome Prince is available for adoption. He is 2 years old and weighs 14 lbs. His adoption fee is $850.00.Handsome Prince, 2 1/2 yrs old and 15 lbs, is a loveable, lap-loving pup.  He is always eager to make new human acquaintances, immediately requesting attention from the newcomer.  Prince waits patiently for his meals and eats eagerly when it's offered.  And he's not one to turn up his nose at the odd treat given during the day.  He enjoys getting combed, rolling over during each session just to make it a little harder for you. Prince may not be good with children who may not respect his boundaries. He will give a warning if awakened unexpectedly or if an attempt is made to physically move him when he doesn’t want to move. He is OK with loud noises such as thunder or fireworks. He willingly enters his night time enclosure when it's time for bed and sleeps quietly through the night. During a recent overnight visit with relatives, Prince wore a belly band without complaint (more due to our cautious nature than his potty habits).  He uses indoor pee pads flawlessly and also enjoys doing his business out on a walk or in the yard. He thoroughly enjoys his toys…squeaky, crinkly, NylaBone-ish….it doesn’t matter.  He can't pass a toy box without dipping his head in and pulling out a few.  He will race around the house chasing our female adoptee if she has a toy that Prince wants…but he will not challenge our male adoptee who is half Prince’s size. Handsome Prince is staying with Mary Anne and Michael in New Canaan, CT.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 12, 2025, 1:11 am

Meet the Adorable Rascal Phoenix We’re thrilled to share that Phoenix has now been with us for a little over two months, and he continues to shine as the sweet, spunky, and active pup we’ve come to adore! Phoenix is a little bundle of joy with a dash of mischief!&#226&#156&#168 This tiny dynamo is: Playful & Energetic – He keeps us laughing with his silly antics and endless enthusiasm. Toy Shredder Extraordinaire – No squeaky toy is safe! Well-Adjusted – Phoenix has settled into our household routines like a pro. He sleeps through the night and eats well. Mostly Housebroken – Rain is his kryptonite, but we’re working on it! Silly & Sweet – Whether he’s zooming around or curling up for cuddles, his charm is irresistible. A Little Velcro Buddy – He may bark or nip at ankles when we leave, but it’s just his way of saying, “I’ll miss you!” &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Phoenix is looking for a loving forever home where someone is home most of the day. His leash walking skills and anxiety about people leaving the house will need patience and consistent training in his forever home, but he’s worth every effort. Although he mostly gets along with his foster brothers, we feel that he would do better in a home where he is the center of attention. He needs a home where his family will play with him, love him, and maybe let him shred a toy or two or ten! He’s ready to find a forever home where he can continue to thrive! Could it be with you? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Tricia (temlet@gmail.com), 4348255134, 4348255134 for more information about this pet. Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Bee Ju is available for adoption. She is 1.5 years old and weighs 11 lbs. Her adoption fee is $900.00. Bee Ju was underweight when she arrived in early December. She came to us with some digestion problems (that are being treated by our vet), and she seems to have a sensitive tummy, but we’re happy to report that she now weighs a healthy 11.4 pounds.  Bee Ju has really bloomed since she came to stay with us.  She is house trained and sleeps through the night in her crate.  (The crate is her preference – she’s very protective of it!) She is very energetic. She loves taking walks (at a brisk pace, with many pauses for vigorous sniffing). After discovering snow, she has been unfazed by the winter weather, trotting down sidewalks or on park pathways in all temperatures.  She will play chase with her toys as long as you can hold out. When she gets “the zoomies,” stay out of the way—she zips back and forth at warp speed! She has discovered that playing with our Yorkie, Colby, is also great fun. She has made some progress on her sidewalk manners. She now knows a few neighbors and neighborhood dogs, and she is getting better at not barking at new people and dogs, though we are still having to work with her on barking control. She is very affectionate. She loves sitting smack against your side with her head in your lap. And she will follow you around the house wondering when you are going to sit down with her! Bee Ju is above all loving and loyal to her people.  While she gets along with her foster brother, she could be happy as a one-and-only dog because her person is the center of her life. She wants and needs a lot of company. She will thrive with someone who can take her out often, play with her regularly, and be at home much of the time—she does get a bit worried when no one is at home. But when you get back, she celebrates by barking and running for a toy, even if you were gone a very short time.  Her perfect life might be alternatively sitting with you and going for many walks with you and playing chase with her favorite toy. Bee Ju is staying with Tricia, John and Colby in Charlottesville, Va.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 29, 2025, 10:06 pm

Story
Meet Vanelle, a sweet 6-year-old Maltese who is looking for a patient and loving home. Vanelle is a bit shy and scared at first, but with time and gentle care, she’ll open up and show you just how much love she has to give. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs (both big and small) and loves snuggling in her cozy sweaters. She’s hoping to find a calm and quiet environment where she can feel safe and secure while building a bond with her new family. Vanelle's new home must have a fenced-in yard. She will not walk while on a leash, and we cannot expect that from her being placed into a new home. Vanelle is up to date on all her vaccinations, spayed, and has had a dental with several extractions. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who just needs a little time to trust, Vanelle might be the perfect fit for you!
