I was surrendered by my family because they don’t have time for me with the new baby coming in December. I love kids and did fine with the 4 children in the home but want to be the only pet. She was pulled from a local pound and is now ready to find a loving home of her own. Elsie is a vocal little lady who may not be well-suited for apartment living, but she more than makes up for it with her affectionate nature. She loves being held and will happily soak up all the cuddles you’re willing to give. She’s friendly with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship. She is not fully potty trained yet but does use puppy pads and will need a patient adopter willing to continue her training and help her succeed. Her experience with kids and cats is currently unknown. If you’re looking for a loving lap dog with a big heart, a strong voice, and lots of potential, Elsie could be your perfect match. Teddy is… a lot. Although he’s technically 3 years old, Teddy missed that memo and lives life like a full-throttle puppy. He’s a Shorkie (Yorkie–Shih Tzu mix) weighing a healthy 16 pounds of enthusiasm, curiosity, and chaos. He’s playful with toys, playful with dogs, playful with air, and deeply committed to yard adventures. Teddy absolutely requires a securely fenced yard, because if given the chance, he would consider a solo expedition into the unknown and never look back. He is, without question, a handful. But he’s a very sweet handful. When he powers down (we promise he does), Teddy delivers top-tier snuggles that make you forget he just driving you up a wall minutes earlier. His former owner sadly passed away and likely wasn’t able to give Teddy the structure or outlets he needed, so he’s learning those things now in foster care. Training is a work in progress. Teddy is not especially interested in being a student, but we are committed, patient, and armed with treats. Teddy is not house trained yet and currently wears a male wrap to manage his enthusiasm for marking. We do expect this to be resolved with consistency, structure, and time. And patience. Lots and lots of patience. Teddy will thrive with a very patient active family who genuinely enjoys training, engagement, and staying busy. He also requires another very playful, similarly energetic canine companion to help burn off steam. Because of his age, energy level, and vocal personality, Teddy is not a good fit for older seniors or homes with shared walls. Meet Millie! 🐾 Millie is a sweet senior Yorkie mix with a happy, affectionate personality. She loves snuggling, especially when wrapped in a cozy blanket, and enjoys following you around the house before settling quietly in her crate or dog bed. Millie thrives in calm environments and gets along well with relaxed dogs who give her space. Her vision seems a little reduced, so she may run into things occasionally—extra care around stairs is important. Millie is a picky eater and only eats wet food, but when she finds one she likes, she’s a great little eater. She isn’t interested in toys but loves attention and cuddles. She’s house trained and will go potty immediately when carried outside. Millie enjoys calming music in her crate and tends to be wary of loud noises, squeaky toys, and young children, and she would probably ignore cats. Despite her sensitivities, she is incredibly friendly and will happily soak up affection from her people. The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs if you already have a dog. I am fully vetted and have just recovered from heart worm tx, light case thankfully.I like to keep busy with squeaky toys and find great joy in tearing them apart! I'm also a bone lover , both these items keep me occupied. I'm a busy fella. I also do all my potty business outside and will let you know when. I don't need a crate. Foster mom has left me alone for 3 hours a few times when out doing errands and I've been a good boy. I am not demanding and in your face, not a cuddle bug. I like being with my person by their side and just like to lay beside you. The foot of your bed is my preference for sleeping. I have 2 dogs with me here, a chiweenie,male, and a boxer mix female. We get along just fine. Proper introductions to strangers a must. Last but not least Fendi has no shame with food left out on kitchen table or any where else. Small breed, terrier experience is desired. No small children , cats not rec ommended, no large male dogs. NO LARGE MALE DOGS IN THE HOME PLEASE!
