Story
King is a 1 year old 13 pound yorkie mix. Special needs … King was rescued from an abusive hoarder and has issues trusting. It takes King a long time to get comfortable with new people then he sticks like glue. This little guy does not like to be picked up, so we do not recommend a household with children. Teens would be fine, adult household would be ideal. King is not a cuddle type or a lapdog. We are looking for that special adopter who will be patient with King and give him time to learn to trust. Letting him set the pace will help build a successful adoption relationship, but it will take some time. This dog is available and everything we know about this dog is included in the dog's description. We are only able to respond to questions once a completed application is received https://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. We do not respond to questions about our dogs sent through email or social media. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed and age assessments are based on visual appearances.November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Prince Jasper is a 5-year-old, 12lb Yorkie. Prince Jasper is a sweet lovable boy who is looking for his forever home. He is submissive and can be scared of some dogs, but absolutely loves to be held and snuggled. PJ is crate trained, but prefers to have his own area instead of being in a crate.  He is leash trained, and housebroken - he will even let you know when he has to go out by going to the door! All he needs is someone who is willing to be patient with him and give him so much affection, and he'll return the favor. Prince Jasper needs a no kid, experienced female dog owner only household.  He would do best with someone that does not have lots of visitors.   If you think Prince Jasper is the royalty you've been waiting for, please apply online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Luna is a 6-month-old, 8lb Yorkie. If you're looking for a puppy without that wild puppy energy, little Luna is the pup for you! She is very sweet and just wants to be near her human. While she does take a little while to warm up, once she does, she loves belly rubs and back scratches. Luna has a little bit of separation anxiety right now and is still learning how to be in a crate. Even though Luna is a puppy, she is non-destructive and won't chew on anything you don't give her. Her foster mom says she's almost house broken and loves to go outside and on walks but will let you know when she's ready to be picked up and carried like the princess she is! Given her calm energy, Luna doesn't need to exercise too much and would be ok with a family that is not overly active. Luna would love to be the center or attention and would do best in a home with someone who is retired or works from home and can spend their time with her. She doesn't mind other dogs and cats in the house, but she really prefers the company of humans. While Luna does sleep in her crate through the night, she would really prefer to snuggle up in bed with her person. If Luna sounds like the perfect puppy for you, please apply online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Copper Penny or 'Yorkie' as we call him is a sweet boy who gets along with everyone ... dogs, cats and humans alike.  He sort of hangs back in the pack in his foster home until it's time to eat. He loves to eat. His second favorite past time is a good snuggle and nap. He very much appreciates his doggie bed, air conditioning, a warm lap and a good meal. He's being treated for heartworms. He likes love and will make a wonderful companion for just the right family. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 6, 2024, 2:18 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Coco is an owner surrender pulled from Cumberland County Animal Services.  She loves to go on walks and listens to commands well: sit, stay, go to bed.  This is unusual for a Yorkie!  She's an expert cuddler and lovers to receive belly rubs.   If you are not home and she needs to eliminate, she will use the pee pad.  But she HATES the crate and will scream if contained.  However, she is fine being confined in a room. She can be very protective of her toys and may nip if you try to take them away. Can you give this little girl a new chance?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2024, 10:45 am
