Story
Meet Cody, who comes to us from the Randolph County Animal Shelter. Cody is a 10-year-old, 6 lb., Yorkie. He was owner surrendered, coming from deplorable conditions with overgrown matting, and smelling of feces and urine. Cody was groomed and examined by our vet once we got him into our care. He has no teeth and due to a burst, his left eye will need to be removed within the next month. His right eye does have some light reaction, however, more than likely he will have limited to none vision and he has hearing issues as well. Other than that, Cody is very vibrant, mobile, and so happy to be in a foster home. He has had his first set of vaccines and has been microchipped. Cody's neuter will be scheduled within the next few weeks. Cody would love to find a loving home and a soft place to land for the rest of his days, and if you are interested in giving him that, please reach out to us for an adoption application.

Story
Cassidy is a sweet 7 yr old, 6 lb Yorkshire Terrier.  Cassidy was a shelter rescue, so we don’t know much about her background. She can be somewhat hesitant when meeting new people but warms up fairly quickly. Toys and a dog bed seem to be new for her, but she is loving and enjoys the attention of her foster family. Cassidy follows her foster mom everywhere and loves to be on the sofa beside her. She can be quick around doorways, so her new family needs to be vigilant. Cassidy is still working on housetraining, so she needs someone patient and willing to take her out regularly as she continues learning. She just started leash training. Cassidy could be an only dog or have another dog under 10 pounds in the home. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher with gaps no larger than 1 1/2 inches, attached to the home and accessible from a usable house door.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio, deck or terrace, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) they need to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500November 4, 2024, 1:54 am

Story
Hadley is a sweet Yorkie who is 8 years old and weighs 9 lbs. Hadley is an observant Yorkie yet, tends to be quieter than most and loves attention.  Hadley came to us as a breeder release and had never lived in a home as someone's dog, so many things are new to her, such as noises around the home and stairs. She has learned quickly to adapt and enjoys sitting on the couch with her foster parents.  Hadley is working on housetraining and leash walking, but she will need someone with time and patience to help her be successful.  We also have Hadley’s sister Harkness in foster care. Harkness is a little more outgoing. They would make a perfect pair for someone looking to adopt two Yorkies, however, they are not necessarily bonded and do well being separate from each other, so we are not requiring them to be adopted together. Please take a look at Harkness’ bio if you are interested in adopting two Yorkies.  Hadley could be an only dog or have another dog under 15 pounds in the home. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD.  The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, gaps no larger than 1 1/2 inches, which is attached to the home.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace without grass, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions.  The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. Story
Harkness is a sweet little Yorkie, who is 8 years old and weighs 8 lbs.  Harkness is a lovebug! She likes to “talk” and will give you a little bark when she needs some attention. She came to us as a breeder release pup and never lived in a home as someone’s loving pet until she came to us. So many things are new to her like normal home noises and stairs. She is learning very quickly about love and enjoys snuggling up with her foster mom.  Harkness is working on housetraining and leash walking but will need someone with time and patience to help her be successful. We also have Hadley, who is Harkness’ sister. Hadley is a little more reserved, but equally beautiful and sweet. They would make a perfect pair for someone looking to adopt two dogs, however, they are not necessarily bonded and do well separate from each other, so we are not requiring them to be adopted together. Please look at Hadley’s bio if you are interested in adopting 2 Yorkies.  Harkness could be an only dog or have another dog under 15 pounds in the home. Story
Oscar is a sweet little Yorkie-mix (possibly toy Poodle or Maltese), who is around 9 years old and weighs 5 lbs. If you have a heart for tiny, lovable senior dogs, Oscar is your guy! Oscar is a very observant pup. He loves to follow his foster mom from room to room to watch what she’s doing. His favorite time of day is mealtime! Oscar gives a little bark to remind you that he is ready. Oscar may be a little toothless guy, but it doesn’t keep him from enjoying treats and food. He is doing exceptionally well with house training and leash walking, and will give a little bark to let you know that it’s time to go out. Oscar could be an only dog or have another dog under 12 lbs in the home.
