Story
Skye is an 8–9 yr old Yorkie, who weighs 5 lbs.  Skye is happy, super friendly, and gets along well with other dogs her size. She loves her person and will follow them around the house. Skye is a curious little pup who wants to be right with you to see what is happening. She can be very quick around doors, so whoever adopts her needs to be vigilant and know where Skye is whenever a door is opened. She can easily get underfoot, so she may not be a good fit with those with balance issues. Skye is a talker. She will alert you when she hears something or needs some attention. She loves for you to talk to her, and she will respond back with a little bark. Skye enjoys snuggling up with her person and watching television. She has a very loving personality and will make someone very happy. Skye is doing well with house training but hasn’t quite figured out how to let her person know she needs to go out. She likes to search the yard for the perfect spot, so she needs a little extra time to find it. Skye is very food and treat-motivated so this helps with training. She occasionally use a pee pad if available. She is still working on leash training. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME (NO YOUNG CHILDREN) WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD.  The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 1.5 inches and attached to the home.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT.  No exceptions.   If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500June 29, 2024, 10:19 pm

Story
Sophie is a sweet 5 yr old, 9 lb Yorkshire Terrier who came to us as a “breeder” release dog which means she had never lived in a home as someone’s beloved family member. Sophie’s foster mother says Sophie has the most beautiful Yorkie face. She is an absolute sweetheart, with an angelic nature. She loves attention and gets so excited when you just talk to her and call out her name. She loves to snuggle next to you in bed or lap. She'll go to sleep being petted in your lap, and if you stop, she'll gently paw you to continue. Sophie is so quiet that you don't even know she's around. We haven't even heard her bark yet.  Sophie is working on her housetraining and will use a pee pad if available. Her new home will need to continue her potty training. She has not figured out steps yet, so she would do best in a home and yard where there are few or no steps. Sophie could be an only dog or with another dog under 10 pounds, which is our preference. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. Story
Cassidy is a sweet 7 yr old, 6 lb Yorkshire Terrier.  Cassidy was a shelter rescue, so we don’t know much about her background. She can be somewhat hesitant when meeting new people but warms up fairly quickly. Toys and a dog bed seem to be new for her, but she is loving and enjoys the attention of her foster family. Cassidy follows her foster mom everywhere and loves to be on the sofa beside her. She can be quick around doorways, so her new family needs to be vigilant. Cassidy is still working on housetraining, so she needs someone patient and willing to take her out regularly as she continues learning. She just started leash training. Cassidy could be an only dog or have another dog under 10 pounds in the home. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher with gaps no larger than 1 1/2 inches, attached to the home and accessible from a usable house door.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio, deck or terrace, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) they need to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. He loves to eat. His second favorite past time is a good snuggle and nap. He very much appreciates his doggie bed, air conditioning, a warm lap and a good meal. He's being treated for heartworms. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Malin is a well-mannered 7lb neutered male rescued from a hoarder/breeder situation. He is very sweet, quiet, and loves affection.  He likes going on short walks and does extremely well on a leash.  Being a senior, he does nap a lot, but while awake will want to be close to his human.  Due to his age, he would do best in a home without stairs.  Please consider giving Malin a forever home.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 7, 2024, 12:42 pm
