You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Copper Penny or 'Yorkie' as we call him is a sweet boy who gets along with everyone ... dogs, cats and humans alike.  He sort of hangs back in the pack in his foster home until it's time to eat. He loves to eat. His second favorite past time is a good snuggle and nap. He very much appreciates his doggie bed, air conditioning, a warm lap and a good meal. He's being treated for heartworms. He likes love and will make a wonderful companion for just the right family. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 6, 2024, 2:18 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Coco is an owner surrender pulled from Cumberland County Animal Services.  She loves to go on walks and listens to commands well: sit, stay, go to bed.  This is unusual for a Yorkie!  She's an expert cuddler and lovers to receive belly rubs.   If you are not home and she needs to eliminate, she will use the pee pad.  But she HATES the crate and will scream if contained.  However, she is fine being confined in a room. She can be very protective of her toys and may nip if you try to take them away. Can you give this little girl a new chance?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2024, 10:45 am

Story
Charlie has not had a good life. He has been bounced around in and out of the shelter in Md. and never cared for very well. He is 10 yrs old, neutered. vaccinated. and microchipped. and had a dental . Dog friendly. Charlie doesn't have many teeth. He is sweet and loveable . no apartments or electric fences. He needs someone home to love him He doesn't need a pal but he needs you. He is a really good boy. Can be stubborn sometimes but that is all part of his charm. when he isn't ready to go home from a walk he plants himself and lets you know so i just scoop him up and home we go. He prefers a calm home so best no little kids., older kids are ok esp if they cuddle with him. He is house trained . This boy needs his home and YOU! email for an application mdcctennis@aol.com We do a 2 week trial foster to adopt so everyone is happy.

Story
Katherine Heigl Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Gender: Female, spayed DOB: 1-3-2021 Weight: ~ 8 pounds Microchipped Adoption Fee: $350 Sweet Katherine is a fun little dog who enjoys going for walks, lounging in her yard, and going on adventures. She likes going to area breweries and pet friendly restaurants. She likes hikes in the woods and staying dry by the lake! We usually crate Katherine when we leave the house, as she can be a barker. However, if left un-crated she will bark for a bit and then settle down. She likes being with her people and hanging out with them. She is a bit clingy, but this will eventually get better as she continues her obedience training and stay command. If you believe that dogs need a leader, they need guidance, they need someone to tell them what to do and when, then Katherine might be a good match. She is not a first time dog. She is not a dog for kids. Katherine is a dog that is insecure and needs someone who can offer the leadership she needs. She's sweet, loving, funny, and worried. When she is in a home that expects her to behave, requires she follow directions, and doesn't ask her to guard the house, she does great! Story
King is a 1 year old 13 pound yorkie mix. Special needs … King was rescued from an abusive hoarder and has issues trusting. It takes King a long time to get comfortable with new people then he sticks like glue. This little guy does not like to be picked up, so we do not recommend a household with children. Teens would be fine, adult household would be ideal. King is not a cuddle type or a lapdog. We are looking for that special adopter who will be patient with King and give him time to learn to trust. Letting him set the pace will help build a successful adoption relationship, but it will take some time. This dog is available and everything we know about this dog is included in the dog's description. We are only able to respond to questions once a completed application is received https://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. We do not respond to questions about our dogs sent through email or social media. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed and age assessments are based on visual appearances.November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm
