Cesar is a sweet 6 year old guy who is laidback, sweet, & loves attention! Cesar likes to play & be silly. He also enjoys a great car ride as you can see in the attached video. Cesar is good with children & dogs his size. He can be intimidated by bigger dogs & kitties. Cesar does not like the rain or snow. He needs to wear his coat in bad weather. Story
Frankie was recently rescued from a NY Shelter where he was picked up as a stray. No one claimed him so DCAR was happy to bring him into our rescue. He was very matted when he was found and had to be shaved down. Frankie listens well, comes when he is called, loves to chase balls and curl up on your lap. He’s a sweet, cuddle bug. He is also doing great on house training. Frankie has settled in well at his foster home but he has developed house guarding issues. He does not like strangers coming into his space. He barks loudly and aggressively in an effort to scare people away. He recently saw a behaviorist for an evaluation and we will be working on correcting this behavior. He will need an adopter who is willing to continue his training and help him feel less anxious. Frankie would be great as an only dog but is good with other dogs too. Frankie's perfect home is a house that does not get a lot of visitors and no small children. Fence preferred but all applications will be considered. This dog is currently being fostered in Rochester, NY and cannot travel prior to adoption. Meet and greets available in the surrounding area only. Visitors welcome. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW! We currently adopt in the states of NY, NJ, Eastern PA, DE, and some areas in MD. We can not accept applications from other states at this time. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our adoption application which you can find on our website at www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org/adopt.html Our adoption fees are on our application. All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and DHPP, heartworm tested, treated for worms and fleas and most are microchipped. We are not a shelter, we are 100% volunteer public charity. All of our dogs are in foster homes until they are adopted. Since we are not a shelter, we do not receive government funding. We are a public charity that relies solely on funds through our adoption fee, fundraisers, and private donations. Since we are 100% volunteer based, all funds collected go directly towards the rescue and vet costs of our dogs. We take each rescue personally and spend a lot of effort trying to match the right dog to the right family. Thank you for considering one of our rescued dogs.

BIGS was suspected to possibly have hip or knee sensitivity at the shelter and required some X-rays to trouble shoot.X-rays found no conclusive evidence of anything wrong. Bigs was described as a two year old dog in an eighty year old body 😞.At first he was timid and would be found hiding under furniture and creeping out occasionally 😞- I really think this accounted for his weird posture and soreness.He came to RTDR with severe diarrhea. We got two scripts and fed pumpkin daily. We got that under control and solved but it took 10 days 😞.Bigs WAS under 4lbs when he came home with me and is NOW 4.5lbs and growing 😃.He is a healthy pup and playing and begging for ❤️.He is scheduled to be neutered next week- he is very humpy and then will be ready to find his furever!He is cat and dog friendly He howls!He will need to be in the room you are sleeping in IF you don’t want to hear him howl 🤣 He is NOT potty trained- typical littlePlease submit an Adoption Application here: www.rocthedogsrescue.com
