Jethro is an about 1 ½-2 year old possibly yorkie chihuahua mix maybe some wire haired dachshund. This little boy is a complete snuggle bug. Loves all people, children and other animals. Even though he likes other animals they tend to boss him around so maybe either a low key friend or he can be king. Walks well on a leash up to date and neutered. Jethro would like a home with a yard maybe some older children to play with him and snuggle up and watch some t.v. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Sport is a handsome fellow who is looking for a new home. He looks a lot like a Yorkie mix, possibly with Maltese. He had to be shaved down due to having lots of mats, so now it's hard to tell what he is! He came from Louisiana and is now in a NJ foster home. Sport and several other Yorkies and Malteses and mixes were dumped at a shelter when their breeder shut down. Our partner rescue in Louisiana stepped in to help save these pups! They are all a bit shy but they are learning how to live in foster homes. Sport is a great boy who is more outgoing than some of the others, but he still is timid.  He is good with the other dogs in his foster home, and tends to follow their lead in terms of going outside and back in, etc. Sport would do best in a home with other dogs that can show him how to be a "real" dog. Sport is vacationing with cats and is ignoring them. Sport has met children in his foster home, and he is starting to seek out pets from the kids. He does like to snuggle and to be held. He is especially cuddly in bed! Sport has started greeting visitors and even the mailman - he's already gaining confidence. Sport is working on his housetraining skills.  He's getting better every day about pottying outside. He enjoys going for walks, but doesn't always realize that he should be doing more than walking on those outings!  :-)  He is very unhappy in a pen or crate so we're keeping him leashed so we can keep an eye on him and get him housetrained. Sport is now neutered, up to date on vaccines and has tested negative for heartworm disease. His adoption fee is $450.   Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! Bonnie is in Louisiana but will be heading to a NJ foster home on January 4, 2025. Bonnie and several other yorkie and Maltese were surrendered when their breeder was preparing to shut down. Our partner rescue in Louisiana stepped in to help save these pups! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rosie is a beautiful girl who is looking for a home! Rosie is with our partner rescue in Louisiana hoping to come to NJ. We offer a foster-to-adopt trial to approved adopters. Rosie is a sweet girl who was being sold on Facebook for Christmas money. Rather than her end up in the wrong place, our partner rescue "bought" her for $80. We think it's the best thing that ever happened to Rosie since she was never fixed or vetted. Rosie is a friendly girl who loves attention and affection. She is dog friendly. Rosie is fixed,   microchipped and up to date on rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccines. She tested negative for heartworm. Her adoption fee will be $450. How to Adopt Me! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Coby is a handsome boy who is looking for a home. Coby came to us from the NYC shelter system. He and his friend Snickers were surrendered when their owner could not properly care for them. We think it's the best thing that ever happened to these sweet boys! Coby is very sweet, overall pretty quiet and calm. He is loving and affectionate and loves to snuggle up next to his person. He likes other dogs and ignores cats in his foster home. He does not seem to be bonded to Snickers. Coby has a little bit of the shelter sniffles so we are working on clearing that up. He should feel better soon. He is a real cute boy who seems pretty perfect - he just needs work on housebreaking. The former owner apparently never took these boys outside and just used pee pads for them. Coby is fixed, up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. His adoption fee is $450.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. Story
***** IMPORTANT! Read note at bottom regarding what a Hero Dog is and the adoption fee ***** Huxley is a 1.5 yr old Yorkie boy weighing in at about 11-12 lbs. He is a sweet, affectionate, energetic, happy-go-lucky little guy who just wants to play, play, play with other dogs all day. For this reason, we feel most comfortable placing him in a home where he will have a fursibling to do just that. He is great with dogs of all sizes, small and extra large - he loves them all! And he’s even fine around cats, too! He is currently located near Trenton NJ. Aside from being a great addition to any home, what makes Huxley even more special is the fact that he is a Hero Dog who has a greater purpose — saving the lives of fellow pets in urgent need. ————- IMPORTANT NOTE! —————- A Hero Dog is one who is specifically donated to our rescue in order to raise critically needed funds for life-saving surgeries of other pets in the rescue. Huxley’s $2000 adoption fee will be used for Della’s amputation surgery, King’s eye removal surgery, and Gunner’s rectal prolapse repair (which currently total apx $10k). You can view a photo collage of these 3 dogs in the photo gallery. Many people do not think twice about ‘purchasing’ a purebred pet from a breeder for thousands of dollars, which simply puts a profit in somebody’s pocket. In this case, the adoption fee/donation is actually used to SAVE THE LIVES of other pets who would have been euthanized because a small 501c3 rescue like ours does not have the necessary funding or adequate donations to do so otherwise. In essence, when you adopt this pet, you may be opening your heart and home to one dog, but you’re actually saving the lives of 4 altogether. By doing so, you become a sponsor of those dogs too and you will get continuous updates as to their progress and as they embark on their journey to finding their fairytale ending as well. Thank you for your understanding and for partnering with us in this mission. We are a small team of volunteers with well over 100 dogs in our rescue at any given time, all of whom were saved from death row in high kill shelters or had been abandoned in their community. No one here receives a salary of any kind so 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to the animals in our care and your adoption donation is tax deductible. ————————————————— If you are interested in learning more about Huxley, please submit an inquiry or call/text Aly at 732-604-0625 and we will happily share additional photos and videos of him and arrange a meet and greet! Thank you for caring about these deserving pets in need!
